Hey /trv/! I know this is a slow board on 4chan and I'm sure you get threads like these all the time but I'd appreciate the help.
I'm young right now, and if I'm going to travel it's best if it's now. I live in LA and want to travel to Europe for an extended period of time.
What are good tips for cheap flights from LAX to Anywhere in Western Europe?
My plan is to find my way through countries like Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, the U.K. and ending in Ireland before I go home.
Plan on spending a few weeks there if I can save enough. Any suggestions for shit to do is great also. Thanks /trv/!

Shit route imo, first Europe visitors need to see Switzerland and those little fairytale small towns
A better route would be Budapest>Bratislava>Vienna> Salzburg>Munich>Innsbruck>Zurich>alps>Bern>Alsace>burgundy>Paris>Amsterdam>UK

I live in Austria and I get lost in Hungary or Slovakia regularly. The language barrier is too strong, barely anyone speaks english in the eastern parts.
>>1250063
A shitton of people speak German in Hungary. I'd say it's easier to talk there in your native tongue than in English.
>>1250067
Older people or the folks in the eastern parts of hungary don't speak german, the cashiers in the supermarkets at the border cities do tho.

I did that. It was a bit rough but nothing a big boy can't handle. Especially in the baby day care that is Europe, with regards to travel. He can plan his itinerary for 60 minutes entirely online.
Good luck doing that in Egypt, Sinai.

only level DOOM is worth playing is ultra violence

Just go to Amsterdam and get it over with.
>tips for flights
kayak.com
google flights
and google "cheapest LAX to Amsterdam" first result is usually right
there aren't any secrets to this

I should state that I've been on trips before but only with ngo's and other friends. It's not my first time going to Europe, but it would be the first time I go alone.
>>1250018
I went to France and Amsterdam my first time and was fine
>>1250149
not saying somebody's first time anywhere can't be fine.
But if it turns out to be, that you are not this kind of person and can't cope with all the traveling problems, it's quite clever to be able to return home easily and reasonably cheaply once shit hits the fan
>>1250018
Lol it's Europe the easiest and safest continent to traverse, ten of thousands gap year students manage it fine every year right out of high school I'm sure he can as well
>>1250251
you'd be surprised how many people launch panic mode once a sinngle thing goes wrong with their plans.
And how many of them immediately get on a bus and speed home.
>>1250264
That's why I don't have plans. Book a plane ticket, maybe a hostel for the first night and then see what happens.
>>1250018
I did the same, my first solo trip was 4 weeks in a country 8500km away.

Watch out for trucks.

Egypt has one of the best mobile internet in the world. My Vodafone managed to work even at the middle of the fucking White Desert

Look up Seat 61. Super helpful train site.

How's your Arabic and booking shit through online services? Need not reply. Which was my main point.
>>1250059
Seriously? What made it so hard in your opinion?
I really think anyone who wants to take the time to do his/her research and isn't a complete moron could go solo travelling
>>1250051
this one if you're only staying in the cities. if you care about nature and small towns etc then all of them are pretty shit. also if you do that then consider the fact that people in villages and small towns don't really speak English.
Solo traveling is the only way to travel.
