What's the best hotel to stay at in Vegas?

That New Orleans, themed one. Slightly off the strip, but as a result the rooms are cheaper. Also, they supposedly have the best buffet, which is a Las Vegas staple second only to the gambling.

Bellagio very nice (just stayed there 3 days in April) but has slipped the last few years. Definitely from MGM cutting corners. Depending on OP's age/interests Cosmo is a good choice

Best hotel downtown? I know.. different then the best, but that would be the Golden Nugget.

Aria, Venetian/Palazzo, or the Cosmopolitan would meet those criteria.

I personally love the Cosmo. Great atmosphere, lot of bar/resto options, great pool scene.

V/P is huge, has a million food/drink spots and is all suites.

Aria is very nice but the vibe is a little dead to me, still a very nice place with a lot of great restos.

Agreed with the mentions for the Cosmo. It's newer and pretty great.

Has anyone else noticed how shit Caesar's Palace has become? Maybe I'm crazy. I don't know. I went once in 2008, and again this year, and the place is just such a pointless mess. I couldn't find a single amusing thing about it.

You have to keep in mind Caesars was built in the 60's, it's holding up pretty well for being that old. It's a bit of a maze to get through but once you get your bearings it's still one of the top 5 or 6 properties on the strip, IMO.

Agree on Wynn, it's a beautiful place but it always feel a bit like a museum to me. I don't get a "fun" vibe there at all.

Also agree on the squeezing of consumers in town (parking fees, steadily increasing resort fees, tighter slots) but there's still no where I'd rather go on my vacations, it's still the ultimate adult Disneyland.

I've never been approached in Luxor like that. I usually am traveling solo though so maybe I'm not their target audience. For sure Westgate and Elara are big on the time share thing, and Rio has a whole area of the casino floor blocked off for them. I have no problem just ignoring them.

On weekends it's a little tough to navigate through for sure, but I'd still rather hang out in Caesars than Bellagio any day. That place is a fucking parade of nothing but Asians and Indi/Paks stopping every 5 feet to take a selfie and clog the walkways. Awful.

I visited Vegas for the first time a few years back and stayed at the Venetian. I had an awesome time and the whole place seemed pretty top notch. I'm heading back there this summer and I'm tossing around the idea of trying a different place, but the Venetian was good enough that Im torn by that idea.

It's a great property. So much to do, great bars, unreal food options, in resort and in the Canal Shops.

If you want to switch it up stay at Palazzo, part of the same property but a whole different resort in it's own right.
