what percentage of your time do you spend travelling?
About 10%.
I generally spend a month in the spring and a month in the fall either traveling for fun or traveling to my next job, or a bit of both.

>tfw self employed
>work 7 days a week unless I am on vacation
>normally plan a 10,14, 10 day trips spread throughout he year
>all of my friends say they are jealous because I get so much time off.
What the fuck? I pinch pennies like fuck and I work every waking day, with only 2 days off a year for holidays (Christmas and thanksgiving) in the end I get less time off than most people I know.
5 weeks of holidays from my employer + extra holidays usually give me around 6 weeks of holidays per year
Additionally, I get to travel 4-5 times/year for work and spend the weekend there at least
10% or so. More when I have to work abroad, 10% when it's just travel for fun.
does commuting count as travel? probably 50% if it does
We get 4 weeks paid leave (legal requirement) so usually around that and then sometimes I might use a bit more.

8-9 hours a day, touring the Westcountry and South / Mid-Wales in my little 7.5 ton go-kart, totally ignoring the company rules on picking up hitchhikers.
I also get 6+ weeks holiday a year, 4 of which are spent slumming round wherever takes my fancy. I've got a Class 1 LGV licence (rigid or articulated vehicles up to 40 tons), and am considering using it to volunteer to crew an aid convoy sometime. Depends on how much I feel like getting shot at or blown up by an IED, I suppose.
