My father was into sailing, the family sailed his boat all over the Chesapeake, out to and down the Bahamas chain, and crewed bare boat charters with him in the US and British Virgin Islands as well as sufficient open-ocean sailing to get the boat up and down the coast as needed.

You don't own a boat or know anyone with a boat -- do you have any experience on boats? Also, from your picture, I guess we are talking sailing rather than stink-pots?
