Going to Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Burma pretty soon. I don't want to bring a phone, just a tablet. How easy is it to find free wifi in these countries? Do most hostels/airbnb places have wifi? TIA.
All bars will have it.

Also most Hostels, usually free

But are bars open during the day, in all 4 countries? I just need to check email every day, plus screw around on the web for an hour or so.

Most coffee shop in Vietnam have wifi where you can squat all day after ordering just a cup of coffee. In fact, that's what the local youths usually do!

Thanks, anon. I'm guessing that the same is true in Cambodia, at least in the larger towns/cities (PP, Sihanoukville, Siem Reap, etc.).
That leaves Laos and Burma -- does anyone know about the wifi situations there?
In Vientiane (Laos), wifi is available in most commercial establishments. You can stay connected all day, if you are indoors that is.
i find it's cheaper and much less taxing on your nerves to bring a phone and buy a local sim card with data.
Yeah there's free wifi pretty much in every bar/ ho(s)tel, but often they are extremely unreliable. Like, connect to wifi, seems to work, order a coffee.. in 30 seconds cannot connect to any website.
>Hey, can you please reset the router for me?
> what?
...
fuck that shit.
Outside the main cities it's almost nonexistent. Just buy a cheap unlocked phone and a local sim

Thanks! So use the phone, or use it as a hotspot. Thing is, I don't have a phone now. Do you think I can buy a cheap burner in Hanoi?

Asian women are more addicted to their phones / social media than their overweight paleskin compatriots, hence there is huge demand for internet in emerging economies like Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos etc, and besides using Viber / Whatsapp / Line is cheaper than texting or calling. Internet is everywhere there is electricity & western people in SE Asia.
You'll be able to get a cheap hot-spot capable phone in Hanoi from the markets, I forget the name but it's NW (I think) from the shitty backpacker area with the long street that ends at Hoan Kiem.

Sorry, North East.
