Other Russians are also welcome to write something like this on their towns/regions. I'll put it on the same website.

There was this one guide who offered to do a similar guide on the Caucasus region, though I haven't heard from him in a while.

Op, did you add info about jams and parking from last thread? Your guide is for pedesterian visiters so far, but surely there could be car and motorcycle tourists from Europe or from somewhere else. Two things I forgot: even in the center of the city your can find free pakring in a yards in any time, it is not so hard between Third and Garden rings, but within Garden ring yards are usually locked by bars with permit only for locals, and the second one is that it is very bad idea to break up parking rules - Moscow evacuators are extra greedy and inexorable, and they take a car very far away to distant industrial zones from where it will be very difficult and inconvenient to release the car.

Also, the second location in Russia that must have the similar guide is certainly St. Petersburg first of all.

Going to Vladivostok may 3rd to may 7th. I'm an American but flying from south korea.

It looks like i either need a hotel visa sponsorship or use a visa website which costs about $30

Anyone have some personal success with or any recommendations to make the whole process smooth? I don't want to get scammed out of $30 if at all possible.

I'm travelling to SPb in May, and staying there for two months. I want to go to Moscow for a weekend, but I'm not sure if I should take a plane (S7 or Rossiya), or take the train there. Do you have any advice?

I suggest you take a speed train (sapsan), it is a fast security check and 3,5 hours comfortable ride from city center to city center.

You can leave at 7-8 in the morning and be in Moscow by noon, then go back next day in late evening, I've done it many times.

And it is rather cheap if done in advance.

American here and i can share some of the visa process.

>find your nearest ILS visa center, they can help process and change your visa application.
>fill out online visa application and have it sent to the ILS center.
>drive to ILS center, pay them the visa process fees, pay them to fix any mistakes you make (pretty sure they will say theres mistakes anyways so they make more money) anyways its not that expensive $200-$300
>wait 7 days for it to finish, go pick back up passport with your visa in it

I went to multiple cities, was clearly not Russian, never stopped by police for passport checks, your results may vary but good luck and enjoy it.

Also learn some russian, at bare minimum alphabet. Also SVO airport is a huge pile of shit that i absolutely hated.

If you stay are Sheremetyovo AirExpress hotel, try asking for it and all employees will send you to the train out of moscow airport to moscow, not the hotel. Hotel will be called "capsular hotel". Go to burger king by elevator, its on 5th floor.

Same problem, but without visa issues (Brazilian). My plan is going to Moscow, see maybe the opening and for sure a Brazilian match (big chances of 1st match happening in Moscow) and then go heads South for knowing Georgia and Armenia (or maybe Crimea), returning for Moscow only at the final match. How are the logistics for that?
