I'm pretty much lost...
Im trying to calculate if having a JR pass is worth it...
I will be in Japan for 3 weeks. Tokyo>Kyoto>Osaka>Tokyo
I have figured out my itinerary. (Ill post my google maps pins below).
The only things i havent figured out are:
- JR Pass 0-Information about this
- Mobile Wifi Boxes 0-Information about this.
My first time traveling. Im 20. By myself. paying everything myself. so im trying to save as much as possible desu.
Probs:
6 Days Tokyo
7 Days Kyoto
5 Days Osaka
3 Days Tokyo again (before leaving)
Itinerary (Of course I do not expect to get to all of them 100%) but ill try getting most of it done. But you see how much ill be travelling. Not too much.

If you really want to save money, consider using a Willerexpress bus pass for moving large distances. In Kansai look into Kansai Thru Pass or Kintetsu Rail Pass, but only if you´re planning some longer trips (Himeji, Koyasan). Otherwise regular tickets will be cheaper, Kyoto>Osaka is like 400 yen one way.
Do get out into the wider Kansai, 7 days Kyoto will overload you with temples and there's jackshit to do in Osaka for 5 days.
Tokyo -> Kyoto 14,500 yen one way (Est)
Osaka -> Tokyo 14,000 yen one way (Est)
This only covers the Shinkansen tickets. and costs about the same as a 7day jr rail pass.
(1WayTickets) + (21-Days-Bus/Subway/RegularTrains) =
(Est. 23,000 Yen) + (14-Days-Of-CommuteTickets)
or
(7-Days-Of-Bus/Subway/RegularTrains) + (14DayJRPass) =
(Est. 47,000Yen) + (7-Days-Of-Commute-Tickets)
or
21Day-JRPass = (Est. 60,000 Yen)
I want to at least experience a bullet train at least once haha. I dont mind even if its a lame experience. Thanks for rep tho!
Pretty hard to estimate how much ill use the regular commute like buses and trains. Even harder when I do not know the prices. Anyone got ideas on how much regular trains/subway/buses are? Good estimate

A lot. ~150-250/ride depending on the distance and city. Osaka´s subway in particular is retardedly overpriced.
