i willingly went to cleveland. it's not as bad as people say. downtown is fine and there's some great restaurants and development happening there.

I would only want to live in/around Columbus if I had to move to Ohio.

Unless you have a really good job, I wouldn't want to stay very long in Cleveland.

It's sad, but Columbus is completely overrun with Somalians now, these "people" are the worst qualities of muslims and blacks put together and Columbus imported about 100,000 of them. Easy way to destroy a great American city.

At least Cleveland keeps their minorities on a leash and the city is very segregated so you are safe. Columbus is practically a war zone. Cleveland is on the rise, Columbus has been trending down for a while now.

I visited Cleveland for a wedding a little while ago, and was pleasantly surprised. The downtown area appears to be vital (not true of all smaller urban centers), there are some interesting neighborhoods (I went to a brewery in Ohio City, which seemed a cool, mildly hipsterish area), food is diverse (lots of less-common European cuisines; lots of former Yugoslavs around) and sometimes very good. It's not Chicago, but it's got probably 75% of what people who like cities get from their cities. And it's cheap, even by Chicago standards (Chicago remains a curiously affordable place for a big city).

Good luck. It's not as bad as the haters say.
