Charlottean here -- I guess that is fair enough, up to a point, though the interest in college sports here is not in the local schools but in ACC schools scattered around the region. But like any one-sentence description of a place, it isn't very helpful.

Will check in from time to time to see if OP has any Charlotte questions. I find it a very nice place to live, but then I don't mind if people like what I don't like.

It's not about the city, it's about the neighborhood. I lived in riverside in Jacksonville Florida. Across the street from 2 breweries, several restaurants and a 24 hour gastropub in a 100 year old house for $600 a month split with roommates in their early 20s.

Rent is an indirect kind of bidding, so look for under appreciated areas.
