Top route: Boring plains, boring hills and the absolute shithole of cities that he Ruhrpott is with coal mining ravaged scenery
Bottom route: Who even cares about the eastern part, on the left the palatinate awaits you.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery aswell and the best wine in all of Germany. The weather is absolutely perfect and if you go during late spring summer or early autumn there will be Weinfeste in every village. When hiking you will pass through beautiful grapevines and the Pfälzer Wald.
It's not even a quesion.
