From what I remember from other threads in /trv/
Don't bother going in winter, you can't see shit and it'll be just a travel in the dark.
Your circadian cycle will be fucked up because Russia has like 49283 time zones and you'll go through all of them.
Russians in the Trans-Sib will most likely be drunk because that's what they do to pass their time.
There are some random cities en route that were worth a stop, but I don't remember which ones they were.
As a Sambafag, you won't need visa, so lucky you.

some things to consider.
-the train is not hop-on hop-off. If you want to have a stop over somewhere, you need to buy separate tickets.
- there is no shower on the train, and people travel for multiple days there. As a result, it stinks
- look up compartments types and choose what's better for you. Locals usually look down on third class carriages (called "plazkart" - those that don't have separate compartments) and thus it's only the poorest that travel there. Even students prefer to go second class. First class (two-bert compartments) are rare, so most people prefer 2nd class. But look them up. THere is also something like 4th class ticket, which is like 3rd class but no guaranteed berth. Haha.

I personally travelled a 50-hour segment once, and even though it was a novel experience for me and I was young, I found it boring as fuck. And I didn't enjoy being stuck with other people in a small space for so long.
