I'm in central London and looking for some nice Chinese-style tofu.
Anyone know the best places to go to find that?
Monitoring this thread, cause I'm going in two weeks, and I cannot last long without some good mapo tofu.

There is an actual China-town in Soho. No idea where to go there though. All of them have menues outside, and I guess most have Tofu.
Watch out for Wong Kei, regarded as the "rudest restaurant in London"

Chilli Cool in russell square is amazing. Awful service but great great szechuan food and not in chinatown (which is awful)

Whichever chinese restaurant Jay Rayner in The Guardian is currently raving about
Chinatown in soho doesn't disappoint, it's a lot of westernized stuff like sweet & sour chicken, fried rice, etc. But the tofu was rad. It's just a street that smells like pee and is full of gypsies & sketchbags, but there are a few restaurants open until like 6 AM and the food is always on point

Okay, /hardedition/ for you lads.
I'm taking out a Londonese/Londener/... girl next week. She is very much into Far Eastern food. Thing is, I'm living in the East Midlands right now, and I have no idea where to take her and not seem like a provincial fresh off the bus. Pls do not disappoint, /trv/. ;_;

Thing is the Chinese/Japanese/Korean food places I know in London either sell authentic food or are good places for a date, nothing really in between.
Maybe the Bibigo in Angel can be something in between...?
