I know you all count layovers when someone asks you how many countries you've been to. Time to fess up.
Also give me pity because I wasn't able to travel this year.
template
1 year is too high limit if you ask me, I set the bar at half a year. Some locations are approximate, as I can't be arsed looking up the exact location of cities in countries with 5000 subdivisions.
I don't count layovers unless I leave the airport, but that might just be me.

People who do this should kill themselves.
I only count layovers if the country says I've entered it, meaning a stamp on the passport. And obviously seeing something outside the airport.

I tried to be scrict with the US. But Montana is probably just about a year if you add everything up. It's not all at once.

I don't count countries unless I've been to them for at least an entire day, not including airports. Who does this?!
Changed the template because I've never lived anywhere longer that three years and thats only for university. Dark Green for 6 months, Olive for 3 months, Light Green for at least a day, Transparent Green for transit.

Fast and dirty re-color on my usual map for these threads -- I don't keep up with where I changed planes once... Panama, Frankfurt, Paris, probably some others... Can't be arsed to map them.

>Caring what somebody else counts when traveling
Who cares? What difference does it make to you if somebody else counts countries he flew over without landing, even... It doesn't fucking matter.
