The last one seems to be expired. Starting a new one.

I'll go first; Thinking of hitchhiking from Bkk to Chiang Mai, then to the Southern Thailand to reach the islands. Koh Lipe, Koh PhiPhi, Phuket, Koh Phangan etc.

Anyone hitchhiked before? Would Thai's take a solo young white stranger to their car?
>>
Does anyone know what the ladyboy scene is in Pattaya?
>>
>>1204944
Sorry I meant Chiang Mai
>>
>>1204944

Last time I was in CM, and not that Katoeys are my thing, there wasn`t many. If you want Ladyboys goto Pattaya or Bangkok.
>>
Will have about £7,000 saved up by March. Should I carry on saving and go during December-January? What will the weather be like March/April?
>>
>>1204961

March-April is hot but start of rainy season. If that doesn`t bother you then its fine. I usually go April-May to avoid more tourists.

What are you planning to do there? Fuck hookers? or sight see? or both?
>>
>>1204929
>Would Thai's take a solo young white stranger to their car?
Uber drivers do it all the time
>>1204945
There is an exceelnt Ladyboy Cabaret, as featured on Anthony Bourrdain's Parts Unknown Thailand episode. I also some casually walkign around, like ladyboys exist there as normal people like everywhere else in Thailand. I reckon a hooker scene miht exist, just as a small one does for regular women, but Chiang Mai isn't exactly known for it's sex scene.
>>
I have spent months at a time in CM -- the sex scene is small compared to Patts/BKK but still there, just not many Katoeys.
>>
>>1204968
Do they have go-go bars at all? Can you still pick up a hooker from somewhere and bring her back to your hotel?
>>
>>1204971

A couple go-go's, half a dozen beer bars. There are plenty of hookers just not hundreds like Pattaya.
>>
My current itinerary is

>Bangkok 2 nights
>Koh Tao 5 nights
>Fly out to Chiang Mai for ??? nights

Basically after I`ve flown out to Chiang Mai I`m gonna have one week left. How many days should I plan for Chiang Mai and is there anything interesting back on the way down to Bangkok I shouldn't miss?
>>
>>1204971

Also, any/all clubs/bars are usually filled with girls for sale.
>>
>>1204968
>>1204976
Which is kind of the point I was saying as far as it's sex scene. It's no bigger than any other similarly sized city. There is enough to caer to whoever wants, but that can be said for every major city in Thailand, from Hat Yai to Kohn Kaen. So it's there if you want it, but not significant enough to make it a destination for that purpose, and the choices are more limited.
>>
>>1204984

2 nights in BKK is fine
5 days in Koh Tao is ok I guess

But you should spend at least a few days in Pattaya. It is Disneyland for men, cannot be ignored.

Chiang Mai is probably my favourite place in LOS though -- great people, food and super chill.
>>
>>1204966

yea, uber drivers get paid. I won't be paying.
>>
>>1204962
I'm going there towards the end of March, how often does it rain, every day?
>>
Anyone go to Thailand and train mma while they are there, I'm a big bjj guy and obviously the muay thai scene is big but what about jiu jitsu, thinking about bringing some no-gi there just in case?
>>
going to Thailand for 3 months with my mom cuz my father died and we wanted to do something big together (neither have traveled outside the US). Our trip is planned April to June.

is there anything we should avoid? She's obv expecting an eat pray Love sort of thing whereas I've done a good bit of backpacking and hitchhiking in college
>>
>>1205099
You'll be there doing Songkran, which can be awesome or terrible, depending on your attitude
>>
>>1204990
the 5 nights on Koh Tao are mostly to do the Open Water Diver certificate + an extra day to actually explore the island

How long does it take from Bangkok to Pattaya? Might stay there for a night or two
>>
So my trip is like this

Bangkok-3 days
Pattaya-5 days
Chiang Mai-3 days
Bangkok-1 day

I am planning on spending 5,000 baht per day(this does not include hotels and flights which are paid for seperately).

I am traveling solo.

The only concern I have are hotels and transport in Chiang Mai-I never been there, and the hotels in central area are either non-chain ones or very expensive.

I found this one for reasonable price, but it is a bit further out. Does anyone now how difficult it is to taxi/uber in Chiang Mai?

http://www.mercure.com/gb/hotel-1797-mercure-chiang-mai/index.shtml

I have been to Pattaya and Bangkok before and while no expert-I can manage making my way around the central areas there.
>>
>>1204968
>I have spent months at a time in CM -- the sex scene is small compared to Patts/BKK but still there, just not many Katoeys.

I am planning on going to Ladyboy Cabaret's there (I think there are two) and chat up the performances afterwards, hopefully some of them are into escorting.

In the Chiang Mai red light area-do they have rooms in the bars like Bangkok/Pattaya or do you have to take the girl/ladyboy to hotel?

One issue I have is that both Thai ladyboys and girls are reluctant to engage in threesomes. Also adding another "guest" incurs a fee of usually 2,5000 baht, so I would prefer to have option of going to a room upstairs in the bar.
>>
What city can you do the most shit in? Like jetskiing or something like that?
>>
Should I book my hotels - hostels in advance? Would I get better deals from booking online, rather than booking from the reception, personally? I will be in Bkk in January 25th (3 days from today)
>>
>>1205527
>Pattaya-5 days

Why would you want to spend 5 days there?
It's nothing but whores and pathetic balding men that pay for said whores
>>
>>1206253
>Why would you want to spend 5 days there?

> It's nothing but whores and pathetic balding men that pay for said whores
You answered your own question.

Also I am very red-pilled and valued whores over being slave to matriarchy and dating.

DON'T DO DRUGS IN THAILAND
>>
Would it be okay to walk around with shorts and a tshirt in big cities like Bangkok, Chiang Mai etc.?
>>
>>1206351
Don't, Thailand police have nothing better to do than bait foreigners to buy drugs then pounce like faggots from the shadow.
I'm just joking, But seriously. Don't buy drugs in Thailand.

I think it's depends regionally, But it's better that you actually don't take any type of drugs in Thailand. The police actually do put out bait pill poppers in bars and shit. It's just rarer.
>>
>>1206351
Go ask reddit steroid or something
>>
>>1206658
According to this they are legal on prescription.
Which I figure you probably can get easily if you know the right clinic/doc

As for your question: marginally

But the big issue is between wicking, fast-drying shirts or easily soaked, yet fast drying, cotton.
>>
I am going to Chiang Mai for three days between 4 and 7th June.
Is the weather ok during that time. Should I worry about mosquitos?
>>
>>1208224
It's rainy season and hot. As far as mosquitoes, just wear bug spray
>>
>>1204976
>hundreds like Pattaya
misspelled "tens of thousands"
>>
>>1205171
Bangers to Patters is about a two hour bus ride each way from the bus station by the Ekkamai skytrain stop. It used to be 120 baht, I'm guessing it's about 180 nowadays. Very easy trip each way.
>>
>>1205017
Well, since Thais mostly aren't into drugs, I guess that means you'll be giving the driver a blowjob.
>>
>>1206145
Probably Pattaya, but you have to be careful about the scams. They'll pretend you scratched their battered old piece of shit jetski, and then demand several thousand USD in compensation. The cops get a cut of the money, so they're more than happy to arrest you until you pay up.
>>
>>1206351
You can get them at the major medical-tourist hospitals. Don't know about Bangkok, but in Pattaya just go to any of the sex change clinics.
>>
>>1209130
Pattaya has a lot. More than sex, like people think. Still, I have to disagree.

Sheer amount of doing things Bangkok has the most things to do, but getting arlund and getting to it all can be daunting, because of how big Bangkok is, how sprawling, and the traffic. Plus the smog, and sweltering heat.

Chiang Mai is the easiest place to a bunch of cultural shit. Temples, elephants, cooking classes, and such

Phuket and the surrounding area is the best for diving/jet sking, and other watersports

Pattaya is best for debauchery
>>
>>1209159
>Pattaya

When guys travel to Pattaya where do you usually stay? I'd like a private room to have fun in.
>>
>>1209248
Also, for first time visitors is it easy to meet fellow westerners to get some inside knowledge? Like how do you know where female hookers hang out vs. ladyboys, which areas to avoid, ETC.
>>
>>1204929
Fucking cheapskate, just pay like 5 USD for a train ticket to Chiang Mai. Do you really think some thai, ESPECIALLY in BKK , is going to give you ride for free?
>>
>>1209248
>>1209250

I recommend Harry's Place on Soi Honey. Random sexpats will strike up conversations with you in GoGos and bars. You don't have to worry about accidentally getting a ladyboy, pne, they will tell you, two, you can easily spot them once you get your feet wet. Only newbies can't. Once familiarized youbare more likely to mistake a real woman for ladyboy, than a ladyboy for a woman
>>
>>1209261
Good info thanks dude.

When is the best time to travel to/around Thailand? I assume I'd want to go in the off season, less tourists = cheaper rates.
>>
hey guys, semi experienced traveller here thinking about going to thailand for a few weeks. what would be the best place in Bkk to meet other travellers to explore the city with?
>>
>>1209273
Hey, I'm the guy above asking all the rookie questions. I wanted to ask a similar question to yours but couldn't word it correctly.

When are you planning to visit Thailand?
>>
>>1209275
Hey, at the moment im going around mid april but im not 100% sure on the time.
>>
>>1204929
Going to Thailand for 2 weeks here's my Itinerary:

>Haad Rin full moon party
>3 nights in Krabi (or 2 nights Krabi 1 night Phi Phi)
>2 nights Phucket
>4 nights Chiang Mai
>2 nights Bangkok (Patong)

Any recommendations for things to do/day trips?

My GF and I mostly like recreational things like snorkeling, rafting, etc. Was thinking about rock climbing in Krabi. We will probably go to a ping pong show as well (either in phucket or bkk?) , any advice? Most likely no hookers but you never know.

Is it worth going up to Pai or better staying in Chiang Mai? What about a jungle trek? worth it?
>>
>>1209291
Forgot to add we are going mid march. Haven't booked any hotels for Chiang Mai or Bangkok yet if anyone has any recommendations. Looking for something maybe a bit gimmicky or unique like a tree house etc if possible. Can go as high as $200/night or so if its REALLY worth it.
>>
>>1209286
Where ya coming from? U.S., Europe?

Another question for you experienced Thai travelers, do you all fly coach for 20+hour flights? I've never been on a plane anywhere near as long as that, and wondered if flying first class or business is worth the cost?

I mean 22 hour flight from East-coast US to Thailand....fuck that's a long plane trip.
>>
Anyone know if the mushroom shakes can get you in a lot of trouble (legally?)
>>
>>1209299
The ones on koh phangan are weak as shit. There are two places that are safe that I can remember. One is on the full moon beach on the cliff, the other was in baan tai. The place on the cliff is called mellow mountain, just don't leave the bar with any drugs on you.
>>
>>1209308
So is it too weak at the full moon in order to be worth it? And the cops don't bother with that place?

How weak are we talking? Any idea how many shakes would be equivalent to an eighth?
>>
>>1209312
I've never done shrooms outside of the shakes in thailand, I can only compare the experiences to LSD, and various NBOME compounds I have had. You can still function completely on one shake, I was actually disappointed because the shakes are like 1000baht each, which is about $30usd. You can get pre rolled joints at mellow mountain for like 300 baht each, they were fine in my opinion.

Full moon party is great fun though, avoid staying on haad rin if you want to sleep however. They price gouge the fuck out of buckets on the party night obviously, you can go deeper into the island like baan tai to get bottles of thai whisky for like 500 baht and just make your own drinks. Do not touch the cheap clear alcohol for the buckets, everywhere else we went cheap vodka etc was fine, but on haad rin the cheap vodka was in all honestly cut with petrol.
>>
>>1209616
Also yes mellow mountain completely safe to buy the drugs from the owners, they pay the authorities off. Just consume them in the premises, do not under any circumstance take narcotics out of the place you will be caught.
>>
>>1209616
The Half Moon party is actually twice as fun
>>
What is the norm in Pattaya sexually? Are ladies GFE? Kissing, BJ without condom?
>>
>>1209619
Isn't the half moon party all psytrance ? I actually regret not exploring more of koh phangan. Haad rin is such a beautiful beach and then they fuck it all up for full moon. Such is thailand I guess.
>>
>>1209616
Ok thanks for the info. I can get shrooms cheaper than that back home and have a good experience here.

I guess I'll try to stock up on some alcohol beforehand, do they sell hard liquor at 711 or anything? We're staying a little ways down from Haad Rin I think a few miles. It wasn't cheap either, but we really want to experience the full moon party.

So the buckets are a complete no go? How much do they charge? What about red bulls where's the best place to get them?
>>
>>1209653
They do but it is marked up a little bit from the supermarkets and the bottleo we found there. Come to think of it, this was the only place we found a bottleo and it looked like it was some guys garage.

You might be staying in baan tai, pretty quiet there and close to the jungle party.

We found the buckets on haad rin to be the most expensive in thailand that we saw, to get decent alcohol they were like 800baht. We were getting buckets on phiphi with cheap alcohol for 200baht. As I mentioned before though, don't do the cheap booze on the full moon, I didn't lab test it but I fucking swear it is cut with petrol or ethanol or something, it is completely fucked.

Thai redbull is legit. You can get the normal redbulls in a can like you can get anywhere in the world, but the thai's have redbull in these little medicine bottles, it's probably not even 100ml. That shit is amazing, it's like 4 redbulls in a little medicine bottle and you can get them at convenience stores for like 20 baht. Mix those with some thai whisky, a big brand of thai whisky was like hong thong or something like that and you just add the little redbulls with it. That is how you will stay awake from sunset till sunrise and beyond for the full moon party.

If you need a bit of western food when you wake up there is a place called soho that does legit burgers and other things. highly recommend

Threesome with two hookers in Pattaya.
Use rubber.
>>
>>1209678
Threesomes are vastly overrated. By all means try it, but it's not as awesome as you would have believed before.
>>
>>1209683
This true. In fact, most threesome end up being more work for the man, not less.
>>
I've only had 1 FFM threesome in my life but I didn't mind doing the extra work lol. It was with my gf and her friend.

Anyone ever have a threesome with their significant other and a hooker? My gf has yellow fever, so she might want to. Or maybe we'll find another tourist that wants to experiment on vacation lol.
>>
>>1209658
Thanks. We're getting in around noon the day of the party any recommendations what to do before? Are prices for everything on the island like massages etc jacked up?

And a general Thailand question: how do you find good massage parlors? Are they all generally the same price/quality? I'm just looking for normal massages.
>>
>>1209299
>>1209308
Anyone else have any experience on the shakes? How about comparing Mushroom Mountain to Eden Garden?

I've never done shrooms but really wanna give them a shot this trip.
>>
What is the best way to pay for things in thailand? I'm planning on telling my bank (bank of america) I'm traveling out of the country and most of my hotels are already paid for.

I'm just nervous about carrying a lot of cash at once. Is it easy to get cash and are there any fees involved? How many places will I be able to use my visa card?
>>
>>1209835
Get massages, hire scooters to ride around on, I'm really not that sure, I only spent 3 nights there and my days where all very hungover days.

>>1209917
Cash is king. Take a debit card and leave it in the safe in your hostel or hotel room. ATM's are pretty much everywhere. Just withdraw like $400 at a time and keep cash stashed in the safe. I wouldn't go out with more than 2000baht. There are fee's of like $5 though
>>
>>1209954
So about the scooters... I've always heard they're kind of a liability in any country, especially cause they charge you for fake damage and the roads are bad, etc. Does all this apply to Thailand or are they a good thing to rent for a few days? Are they crazy about DUI's also? Dunno if I'd rent one if I can't have a few drinks and drive it.

Thx for the answers so far. Sorry if I'm sounding paranoid, my first out of country trip that's not a cruise.
>>
>>1209956
Another anon who lived 5 months in Thailand here. When renting a scooter, just check for any scratch and take pictures of various angles, would it only be to show them you know the drill.
I wouldn't recommend driving drunk or even just tipsy, traffic is a sufficient life threat, especially at night.

But overall, renting one and roaming around is just great.
>>
>>1209957
Interested in hearing experiences on 5 months in Thailand. 5 months I assume you had to apply for a visa? Where did you spend majority of your time?(Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket)

How much did it cost you to live in Thailand for 5 months, all together?
>>
>>1209956
Like the other anon said, if it's a dodgy shop take photos of the scooter beforehand. Someplaces you do not want to ride a scooter, like patong. Koh samui, Koh phangan and chiang mai are were i used scooters and it was perfectly fine. Some places only let you hire a scooter if you leave them your passport, fuck that right off, they will extort you for the passport back, so other backpackers told us anyway.

Never heard of DUI's, we rode past cops in samui with a big chang in one hand. They laughed at us, they might've just been good blokes though, who knows.
>>
depends on the airline and if you can't sleep with xanax. try it once.

>>1210191
Real talk though, is a backpack the best way to travel? I'm going through 5 cities in 2 weeks so I was planning on bringing my backpack. Mostly doing ferries or flying to get around. I also have a rolling duffel bag. I could also bring my smaller backpack to have a day pack or something. I figured it might be weird having 2 backpacks otherwise.

Question for anyone with Thai hooker experience, I keep reading that some ladies will try to stay with you multiple days and become like your girlfriend. What does this entail? Does she expect to be paid everyday, or like a sugar baby relationship?

I'm not looking for a chink wife but a whore/tour guide would be nice.

This is a super specific question but anyone ever taken the ferry out of Railay Beach? You can buy viagra, cialis, and any related in a pharmacy with no prescription. You can also choose buy the real thing or the cheaper generic ones.

Buy it from a pharmacy and not from the street. Pretty much any pharmacy will carry them.
>>
>>1212028

>>
>>1212028
How much do these run?

Any other prescriptions worth getting? I really don't have any experience with prescription drugs. I'm not even sure I'd want Viagra cause I think my GF would probably hate getting pounded for hours on end.

Can you bring them back into the US or do you have to sneak them in?
>>
>>1212036
If you don't have experience with these pills, I suggest you try out the different ones to see how they work. Their active ingredients and effects can be quite different. Original viagra and cialis are probably your safe bets, try each to see what an effect it has on you, if one works better than the other.

Prices vary a bit between pharmacies, one 4-pill box of original viagra or cialis runs maybe 1500-2000baht. Generics are obviously cheaper.

No idea about the US, but I don't think there is anything illegal about it. I've brought many back to Europe without any problem.

I like the Sukhumvit area. If with the wife I stay at the Holiday Inn Express on Sukhunvut 11. Good location, walkable to Nana Plaza and Soi COwboy, as well as Nana BTS. Bars and clubs right by the hotel. Uber is cheap in Bangkok, as well.

I suggest the show at Angelwitch in Nana Plaza over Baccara or any on of the ones on Soi Cowboy

Thanks! How much stuff in that area is appropriate for couples? You ever get a couples massage or anything?

What's the best way to get to the airport? The train or Uber?

I was reading a lot of stuff about taxis ripping people off. Does Uber work all over the country or just Bangkok?
>>
>>1212735
Uber in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. I never used the train so I can't compare. Massage places are like every five feet. Check the reviews for the hotels, a lot of them speak to the area.
>>
>>1212748
Yeah I've been doin that, that's how I arrived at Khao San cause it seemed like a happening area but I definitely want to check out Soi Cowboy or Nana.

Is it worth going to both?

And how do you determine what is a good massage place or all they all about the same?
>>
>>1212751
Traffic can suck, but ubering around you aren't going to be stuck in one area. Khao San is backpacker central. Not really my scene, but may be yours. I'm more nightclubs, which are around Sukhumvit, and also RCA and Silom road area. Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy are close enough to do both. Me and the wife did both in the same night, walking from the hotel.

I didn't get a massage in Bangkok, so I can't speak to it.
>>
>>1212757
I just meant for massages in general in Thailand. I plan on getting lots of them, just wondering how to know if the place is good. I don't think I'll have yelp available.

I'm not looking for any happy endings, BTW.

Thanks for the help btw
>>
>>1212757
Oh and about my scene... I'm not much of a backpacker either we are mostly staying in resorts. I'm just in Bangkok for 2 days so really trying to get a feel for the city and see and do the 'greatest hits', if you will. Based on my research it seemed like Wat Pho, Grand Palace, Khao San Rd, and Soi Cowboy would cover it. Missing anything major? I heard the floating market is just a tourist trap.

It will also be my last days in Thailand so looking for some partying.
>>
>>1212762
I'd replace Khaosan rd with taking a water taxi at the back of wat pho either to the other side or further down the river. Avoid all the hr long boat rides they try to sell you, just pass them and go to the river to catch the taxi, should be something like 13 bahts? I might be making that up, but it was much MUCH cheaper than the long boat trips, and more fun, too.

I wanna ask this without being a dick, but how many tourists in Thailand are obnoxious, drunk assholes over the age of 30? Any normal people under 25?
>>
>>1212766
Thanks. I might have time for all of it, I have 2 full days.

Do they taxis take you anywhere or just back where you started?
>>
>>1212770
Don't do taxis, tere or good ones, but you can get fucked. If you do use a taxi use the grab app. Just Ubers are quick, cheap and plentiful, unless surge. As far as massages, Thai massages are more like rubdowns (I tend to like deep tissue or swedish. Feeling like I got beat up after. I work out so get stiff/knots) , and happy endings, if not more, or just part of the massage culture in Asia. Just don't ask for it, or say no if it's offered. I skipped khao san rd. Being with your gf, hitting upt the martkets like Indira/Pratanum markets, and the malls like Siam Paragon may be worth it. There's also those movie theaters with the beds/couches there. http://www.artinparadise.co.th/ but kind of farther than everything else we saw in BKK. Siam Paragon also has an aquarium in the basement that's pretty cool.
>>
>>1212779
I was talking about the water taxis, sorry. Yeah I'll make sure to get the Grab App. Between Uber and Grab, is that the best way to get around all of Thailand?

Going to Phucket, Chiang Mai, BKK, Phangan, and Krabi.

Is happy ending included in price or do they surcharge?

Drinking, sorry if my grammar deteriorates. No Uber on Phuket and the South Islands. Though you can cheaply rent a car and traffic is not crazy. I stayed in Bangtao, close to Surin Beach, and was with a friend, she took mer around on a motor bike in the local area, or we walked. And I rented a car when we went to the Phuket City Night Market, the big temple in Phuket, you would need one for Big Buddha, as well. That said, their are tourist agent booth all around which will carry you to these places, but renting your own car is cheaper. Though if you don't have a local tour guide, that may be a better option.

>>1212784
>Is happy ending included in price or do they surcharge?
This was in Pattaya, but I know of a guy who got a a massage girl at his place, long time, for 1,500 Baht, plus 500 fine, at his room, which included sex, at about 3 or 4 am.

I don't have any personal experience with going for a regular massage and then asking for a finisher after the fact.

Are there any good clubs in Silom area?

Anybody in Chiang Mai wants to grab a beer or something tomorrow?
>>
Thinking about taking a trip to Pattaya in May. I know it's the rainy-off season, but IMO less tourists is better.

Anything I should know about Pattaya in May?

Anyone gonna be there around the same time?
>>
First time in Thailand. I'm going alone. What neighborhood should I stay? Pretend to visit temples and the beer bars too. I'm looking for a hotel in a US$ 50/day budget. It could be a hostel, but must be an ensuite room. Do you have any clue? I've searched in agoda but I'm not sure if I stay near the Siam Paragon, Nana Plaza, Sukhumvit...

Any personal experiences in a nice, cheap, well located hotel?
>>
Considering going to Thailand for a lengthier period of time that depends on cost/savings at the time, likely 1mo - 6mo if possible.

How much do things cost? Mostly curious about what kinds of places I can stay on near a quiet beach, something cheap but nice enough. Mostly going to finish writing a book and would love some peace and quiet.

There's a bunch. The Sky Bar, from Hangover II, is overrated, but an awesome view. I was actually staying at the Lebua when I went there. But there are a gang of bars and clubs in the Silom area. That's also where a lot of the gay bars are as well, for those out there looking for normie non-hooker ladyboys

View from my balcony during one of my Lebua stays.

Can anyone help me with opening a bank account in Thailand or possibly before? Currently I use a local bank that may not work or possibly drop a fee for every transaction. I'm going to be staying in Thailand for several months and don't want to carry around wads of cash with me.
>>
>>1214205
Easiest solution is a credit card with no foreign transaction fees, and then just paying your bill off, carrying no interest, through your original bank account. At least that's what I did bit was only there 3 weeks. That credit card had cash advances for when I needed cash.
>>
>>1214212
I don't have a credit card though and will be there for possibly over 6 months.
>>
>>1214213
If youa re from the USAA there are certain credit unions and banks that will hook you by not charging fees and refunding ATM fees, If not, there are banks in Thailand. I don't know what kind of balances they require, or if you will have any problem getting all your money when you leave. There are some international banks there, as well. Like Citibank
>>
So what is the general plan if your going to Thailand for 2-3 weeks? Bring enough cash to last and convert when needed. Or use your home bank ATM card to get cash when needed?
>>

unless you get 2 girls who are into lesbian shit.... 3somes are kinda boring and overrated. It's not porn, what you see is totally fake shit
>>
Has anyone done the Full Moon Party solo? What's it like?
>>
>>1214689
Went with a friend and a few guys from the hostel. Lost them all like 2 hours in. Found them again at like 7am. It's very commercialised, not a totally bad thing just something to be aware of. Had a great time, everyone is there for a good time except the chads who go purely to get laid. Would recommend.
>>
>>1209683
Threesomes with hookers are vastly overrated imo. I've had them naturally w/ an ex and her friend once, had it organized through tinder once, and then paid for it once. Completely regretted paying for it as I would have rather spent some of the money from the second girl on the first girl to have her do more dirty shit to me.

I'm gonna be in Thailand in a couple of weeks, is the south going to be unbearably hot? Better off going north from Bangkok?
>>
Hi I'm considering a trip around Thailand, Cambodia, possibly nipping to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. My (only just conceived) idea is to get a return flight to Bangkok giving me two weeks in between both flights. I know it is not an awful lot of time and during Monsoon season, but two weeks in July/August are really the only times I can go.

I was wondering whether/how I could see Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap (and other nice areas) within those two weeks. I'm not too fussed about spending lots of time in each place.
>>
>>1215515
Alternatively, I could fly into Bangkok and leave from Ho Chi Minh City.
>>
is $60 too much for a night in a luxury condo in bangkok on airbnb? i've seen $25 a night for regular one bedrooms but looking for something elegant with a reasonable price

does uber work in bangkok?
>>
The only place's im considering renting a scooter/bike is the islands where public transport is a bit harder like Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. I have no experience driving motor scooters and I also dont have an international drivers license. Does anyone know how strict these laws are, if I get caught can I just plead ignorance and bribe someone for a couple hundred baht.
>>
>>1215728
I rented a car on Phuket. I don't think I even showed my license. I was with a local, though. A lot of times they will keel your passport, though. I lucked out there , because the local I was with knew the guy (she has been working on Phuket in the Bangtao/Surin area off and on for over a decade) and because of my occupation (US military, meaning I could be found easily and held accountable if I fucked him over) , he just kept a copy, and I kept my passport
>>
>>1215521
yes Uber or SEA equivalent Grab. Prefer Uber though
>>
>>1215728
You will be fine riding on these islands. Police ute went passed me when I was driving with a big chang in my hand, they just waved and laughed

Are you looking for a more of a backpackery constantly traveling kind of experience or just getting sunburned on a beach? If it's the former Thailand to Siem Reap to HCMC makes sense. Could also stop by on Phnom Penh, esp. if traveling by bus. There's not THAT much to see in PP and HCMC, mostly walk around and let local life wash over you kind of cities.

>>1215728
You'll be totally fucked (meaning guilty no matter what happened) if you get in a crash. As Anon said, try not to leave your passport as collateral if at all possible.

Hey Thailand General.
My Chinese born girlfriend is meeting me in Thailand for 2 weeks.
Plan is scuba diving in Ko islands and the rest in Bangkok.

What's the sexiest thing I can take her to in Bangkok that won't get me dumped?

Go take the Basic Rider Course or whatever your country's equivalent is, before you leave. It just takes a weekend and will set you up to ride motorcycles and scooters safely wherever you go. And you'll then be legal as well.
