Hello everyone, my friend and I are taking a trip to Europe in mid Feb. We are starting in Paris and then going to Amsterdam.

Is there a smaller city in The Netherlands that has coffeeshops? Since we are going to two larger cities we wanted to go someplace smaller, a country type feel. I thinking James Bond Skyfall type setting haha.

Thanks for the help. (PIC RELATED)

coffeeshops are all over, just in the south of the country near the belgian and german borders you need a weedpass.

also you're not going to find that landscape here lol, the netherlands is a super flat country.
>>
That skyfall scene was in scottland, if you go from Edinburgh to Noch Less you will go see the sister mountains like in the movies.

Here in holland it's flat and nature is tamed

To add to my answer: if you go to Haarlem (15minutes by train from A'dam) you can take the train to Zandvoort. It's by the beach and has an american indian themed coffeeshop named the Yanks. It's great .
>>
as far as I found out, practically every city here has at least 1 coffee shop. also, our country is too flat and population is too dense to see any 'proper' nature

Go to de Kronkel in Nijmegen

That's Scotland faggot.

Leiden. It's like a miniature Amsterdam. No endless crowds, same architecture, (Alot of 17th-18th century buildings, canals.) and alot of coffeeshops.
Haarlem is also pretty cool, for the same reasons. Leiden is better though. It's more compact

can second this. I visited my friend who studies there and it's lovely. Has a good coffee shop called Le Palais as well.

>Coffeeshop.
Please don't come and promote drug and criminal culture.

Marihuana is illegal.

If you looking for a little hills and nice countryside -> Limburg (most south province), Maastricht is pretty nice city (don't know about the weedpass tho)

other than that, every (medium) city has at least a couple of coffeeshops, for example Eindhoven where I live: pink, indian dylan, high times, casablanca, the wall to name a few
>>
OP here guys. Thanks for all of the good info. We decided to go to Leiden.

Does anyone know of any cannabis friendly hotels in the area? I'm having trouble finding an airbnb that will allow cannabis smoking. Found one rather easily in Amsterdam.

I'm the guy who recommended going to Leiden. I am a native. I don't know of any particular local hotels that are "weed friendly". Then again, you are in The Netherlands. Just go outside and smoke a joint. Nobody will care. If you want to chill out in peace though there are a dozen parks in the city, though it's quite cold outside right now. Fuck, I could even show you around if you like.

There is no scenery in the Netherlands outside of impressively flat and empty vistas of fields and windmills.

The old centers of cities are gorgeous.

Every city has coffeeshops. Fun ones are Utrecht, Groningen, Delft.

Partially true. There is alot of nature to be found in the east, in Gelderland, Overijssel and such. (The Veluwe) In Holland there is the Dunes.

No, not at all, you won't find beauty like that in those wretched flatlands :^)
