To live in, or to visit? because those are VERY different things..
>favorable dating market for me
Until I travelled around the world and dated in lots of different place I didn't realize how much this could really matter. I lived so many years after college in Seattle, where the ratio means that even fat chicks are entitled as fuck. Then I visited the Philippines, Brazil, Colombia... total opposite, way more enjoyable as a single guy.

>clean

>pedestrian - easily walkable
>cosmopolitan - people from many other places in the world are influencing the culture, including an immigrant population
>culturally alive - new things are constantly coming from the arts, music, restaurant and literary scenes, and the locals value these things
>local color - traditions, events, foods, and ways of doing things that are unique to that city
>love of food - for me a great city takes pride in its food, and not just the top restaurants run by great chefs. A truly great city will have great things to eat at street level so you never have to resort to fast food or chain restaurants

>good paying work, especially for engineers
>reasonable rent, affordable housing prices, if not then the income better be high enough to account for this
>fast internet
>shopping mall near by (max 15 minute commute)
>low-ish crime rate
I know this depends on the area but it shouldn't be known for crime like detroit
>Good gyms and sport clubs
although if there isn't then that could be a possible business opportunity for me.
If I choose to settle down in 1 city, then I hope I have a long term gf by then too so dating market isn't too much of an issue
>Mountains and lakes near by
on top of what I just listed, if a city has this then it's automatically god tier
