Going with friends. Starting in London, going to Scandinavia, and seeing as much as possible, including Morocco. What do I need to bring with me?

as a novice traveller, I also would like to know

You sure are going full circle with that itinerary OP. How vague can you get?

>Starting in London, going to Scandinavia
Okay, so are you flying to Scandinavia, taking a ferry in Dover into Amsterdam and then training over there, or what?
>Seeing as much as possible
How long do you have?
>Including Morocco
Not Europe, but I get what you mean. Don't do Morocco if this is some kind of 2-4 week trip. You can't just do London, run to Scandinavia, and then end up in Morocco without a large block of time.
>What do I need to bring with me?
You really don't sound like you know what you're doing. Let me enlighten you a little bit

take notes

Get a backpack about 40 liters. Pack about 4 or 5 days worth of clothes. One outfit that is nice that you'd go clubbing in, one pair of swimwear, a toothbrush, chargers, no laptops (unless you have chromebook, very small), deodorant, shower sandals/whatever you want to wear in a shitty hostel shower and wet wipes (trust me on this and thank me later).

Look up how to pack clothes as tightly as possible. Make copies of your passport, leave one at home for your family in the event that they can fax an embassy of your copy, one in your wallet, and one hidden wherever you think is best. This should be painless and be valuable if you ever lose your passport. Think of it as insurance.

Call/let your bank know that you are going overseas and specify which countries for your debit/credit card so that they do not lock your account before you get there. I have had this happen and it causes a great deal of uncertainty.

Book accommodation+transport at least a week or two into the trip so that you're not wondering if you're going to be homeless. It's cool at first to just wander around freely but you end up looking back at yourself as a fucking moron for not staying at that one cool hostel or city because you're just trying to be a ~real traveler~.

The worst part about traveling is getting from point A to B. The cheap airlines in Europe are a godsend but you must take into consideration the size of your bag (hence my recommendation of a 40l bag so that you can count it as carryon), the time to get to the airport, and the time to get out of an airport. A 2 hour flight from London to Stockholm will in reality become 4 or 5 hours in transit with traveling to the airport, getting through security, waiting an hour before departure, flight, arrivals, bus out of the city and finding your accommodation. Factor that into your schedule- you really do not want to spend your time fucking about in airports. It gets old.

Europe is easy mode traveling. However, somehow people can and do fuck it up. Wikitravel each place you want to visit and plan accordingly. Use rome2rio to create sample itineraries and get an idea of how long you will be in transit and how much it will cost. It's pretty fun to plan. You should have a good time if you follow up with all of this shit.

Do all those idiot prongs get a charge when you plug it in? I assume not, but I'm not sure I see how not.

For a Brit going to Europe and Morocco, this isn't really necessary. But other than that, sound advice.

Any experience lugging a tent with the bag? I image that would automatically make the bag need to be checked into luggage ?

London's basically a third world country since Brexit, make sure you take a hunting knife and have some way to get water
