Not OP, but i'm planning a week-long trip in March & the netherlands was one of the possiblities. If you'd answer any of these, that would be really helpful!

How safe is Amsterdam or Netherlands in general?
How easy is it to get around? Would I have any trouble renting a bike?
How expensive is it for food & little things? If I was only looking to spend 70EUR a day (not counting housing), would that be feasible?

Nothing to worry about in Amsterdam, there's tourists everywhere. Somehow a lot of foreign people seem to think it's a ''bad'' city? There's really nothing scary.

You can rent a bike at Central Station, if you walk out of it straight to the left. If you went over the bridge you've gone too far.

You can get snackbar food which is about 2/3/4/5/6 euros. Restaurants ' round 30/40/50 bucks. Depending on where you eat/drink and what you eat and drink of course.

I'm not sure about a hostel, i think they are fairly cheap and payable.

No worries tho! If you bought some for own consume and don't wave it around you should be fine. However if you're going to a party/club you most likely will be searched. I'd usually put it in my underwear for obvious reasons.

It's quite easy to buy while in a club though which I do not recommend due to not knowing what it exactly is.

Back to your question;

If the police would search you and find it you PROBABLY just get a fine and they'll take it from you. I'm not quite sure though.

That said, as long as you don't wave it around like a looney you'll be fine. Find a proper dealer though, and not some street dickhead that whistles you over if you want to buy something.

My advise would be, go to a pub sit around have a chat and find a local guy who might do it himself every now and then. You should probably go out of the center a bit for a decent pub. However ''Hannekes Boom'' might be alright to get it. Which is located across the Nemo.

I'd recommend you going to the Warmoestraat, there's a shop there that sells psychedelics which are called truffles. You can explain them how much of an expert you are with them and the advise you what to take. You are even able to do it in the back of their shop and they will help you out.

I've never done it at that place but it seems quite good.

I've been to the Netherlands twice because I have a friend who lives there. I would definitely pick the Netherlands just to hang wit my buddy. I'm not really the outdoorsy type anyway so it's not a difficult choice.
