What is the cheapest way to travel from US to Europe? I've looked into traveling by cargo ship, but that's about the cheapest method I've found if done so in exchange for labor.
>cargo ship

My brother and I are going to Paris in 3 months.
My flight was $800
His was $400
We googled our flights everyday or so for a month.
What price are you looking for?

If you are actually considering a cargo ship to get to Europe you clearly aren't prepared nor do you have enough money for Europe

You clearly haven't because it doesn't work like that.

you can get returns for like 300 euros if you find the right airline
I know a girl who did dusseldorf to jfk return for 280. In july as well.
Got to skyscanner, put in random airports in europe on one way flights. View prices for whole month, look at prices, determine whats the cheapest price, pay around that amount. You can book and fly in about one week for the cheapest price available.
Miles. Literally $5.60 + miles to Europe. ~$50 coming back.

you can put a whole country in skyscanner instead of an airport

Are you sure it's the cheapest? When i looked it up it was like 1500€

Says as if getting enough miles was easy and cheap like filling a bucket with water from the pond.

How many flights does that net you? I'm not familiar with AA points.

No you haven't. Some cargo ships have passenger cabins. It is more expensive than flying, and no, you can't swap labor for part of your passage because of unions, insurance, etc. plus the fact that you don't know shit about how to do anything useful on a ship.
You cant even do work onboard cargo ships if you dont have the right papers, especialy those required by STCW code.

Cargo ships are more expensive than flying. They have to feed you and give you your own cabin.
If you can't afford to buy a plane ticket why even go travelling in the first place. With a bit of work and some advance booking you can get a ticket for pretty cheap
