I might be in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago Iowa and Indiana during December/January.
How will the weather be?
What are some things to do?
Any cities I should skip or include any nearby places? Restaurants that I should try?

>How will the weather be?
Siberia tier cold with lots of snow.
>What are some things to do?
Too general. There's tons of stuff to do.

I'd skip Iowa. There's nothing in Iowa m8. Unless you have to go.
Personally, I'd add Madison to your Wisconsin trip or skip Milwaukee and just do Madison if you can't do both.
If youre a craft beer drinker Toppling Goliath (the second or arguably top brewery in the world) is in Iowa, and they are releasing KBBS (#2 on beer advocates best 250 beers in the world) in January. You have to win a lottery to be able to buy your 1 bottle limit. It costs like 20ish USD a bottle and it sells aftermarket for like 1200-1600 USD per bottle. But like I said, IF you are a craft beer drinker its like a pilgrimage to Mecca.
If overpriced breadwater isnt your thing though, >>1186802 is spot on, theres nothing else worth seeing or doing in Iowa.

Another craft beer fag here
Look out for Bell's Two Hearted Ale. It's from Kalamazoo MI but it's everywhere in Indiana and probably in lots of those other states, too.
Speaking of Indiana, we have a few good museums in Indianapolis. Cheap city, good place to eat and drink for a few days. Look up Fat Dan's Deli. Best wings I ever did ate.
