I live in Barcelona - AMA

Planning on going to the city with 2 friends in spring next year. Were mid 20s, we love food and cheap drinks. Could be interested in sight seeing but not into art or museums. Wouldnt mind some beautiful ladies too. Suggestions?

There's all kinds of sightseeing. There's all the classics in the city center, there's some places further outside like Montserrat which make nice day trips. If you like architecture there's a lot to see, many styles which are endemic to Catalonia like modernism and "noucentisme" (nine-hundred-ism, from the 1900's). Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera stand out but aren't representative. One thing that makes barcelona beautiful is the amount of beautiful but not prominent architecture.

For cheap drinks avoid the city center. The oldtown is all tourist traps except a few places you may look up. The Eixample part isn't cheap but reasonably priced. If you want to go out at night I'd recommend the area around Marina metro station. If you go there friday or saturday evening just follow the crowds to that one street full of bars. Eclectic ambiance. Gràcia is very nice too. Lots of comfy bars. I'd avoid Vila Olimpica and thereabout. Barceloneta is full of tourists, make of that what you will. You can meet other foreigners there, or you can just avoid that part.

Eat at Lizarran or 100 Montaditos for small bread-based portions. Both are chain restaurants, you can eat your fill for not much and the beer is quite cheap. If you want fancy stuff check tripadvisor and the like for good restaurant. One essential is Set Portes at Pla del Palau, for delicious Paella. Don't eat Paella at random places, it's gross frozen shit.

Starts around 600 euro per month rent for 40-50 sq meters, plus bills and eating and stuff. You can live a bit cheaper in the burbs, but the burbs are gay.

Not in summer. Filled to the brim with tourists, hot, humid. Winter is generally ok, it's mostly mild although wind can be cold because of humidity. Rain is rare even in winter. Spring and autumn are probably the best seasons. You can go to the beach from march/april to september/october. Sometimes even november.

This summer, between july 9th and 28th, ill be staying in barcelona with my relatives. ill be staying in a few different hostels and hotels.
