I'm wondering if anyone here is a big film lover and what the best travel related films are.
Have you guys seen Sans Soleil?
Sorry for the completely predictable answer but Lost in Translation is my favorite travelkino and one of my favorite movies ever
The Beach
Can we talk about documentaries as well?
Personally I love the Madagascar Diaries.

What exactly makes chungking express a travel film? I know she ends up a flight attendant but the whole movie is just in HK from the perspective of people from HK.

Sans soleil is an absolutely gorgeous film. I love the themes it has about the fragility of civilization, the paradoxes and contradictions in modern life and the way it uses seemingly innocuous things to illustrate political or philosophical points.
When you find out what the image of happiness at the beginning means in its greater context, I almost cried.
