I've been to 40 countries. Haven't checked out all the maps here yet, but it doesn't look like most of you have as much work to do.

Not saying it's cool that I've been a few places. I know there are way better-traveled people here. Just takes more time than I'm willing to put in. :/

That's quite honestly the easy-mode map to use, not even memeing.

The administrative subdivisions map is much more precise and indicative of where you have actually been. Personally I find it much more interesting too.
Coloring in the entirety of Russia because you spent 5 days in St. Petersburg is pretty cheap.
>>

>Salvador de Bahia
He actually got it wrong, the absolute madman.

It's like people don't even look at maps anymore, even when they're preparing their trip.
>>
>>1167789
What people really want to know is which countries you've been to, doesn't matter how big they are. It's more interactive to tell you with a map rather than list them all.

Huh.

No clue. I didn't pay much attention to the map and must have mucked some colors up. I've been to Georgia and Armenia; I've no clue why the former is only colored halfway.

I went to Iraqi Kurdistan in 2013. Took a bus from Diyarbakir in southeast Turkey across the border and visited Duhok and Erbil. Lovely place with fantastic people. I'd love to go back again and wish I'd had more time to spend there in the first place.

One of my biggest regrets from Iraqi Kurdistan was taking only a handful of pictures. I didn't snap any in Erbil.

Pic related, here's Duhok.

That picture was taken in Duhok. There are a lot of Yazidi and Christian refugees there from northern Syria and the rest of Iraq. One of my best friends in the United States is from Baghdad and his entire family lived in Duhok for a year before shifting to America.

Most of the uncovered girls are non-Muslim. However, it's really worth mentioning that you never see unaccompanied girls wandering around past 8 or 9pm. The streets turn into a massive sausage fest, although the case is somewhat different in Erbil.

Lived in Kansas, Alaska, Germany, Texas, New Jersey and now Maryland 3 years each, Maryland 7 years

While in Germany, parents took me around Europe: Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, France, and England as well as parts of Germany. I was very young though and couldn't appreciate it.

Grandparents funded a trip by myself to Iceland and stayed in a tiny little church at the age of 12 for about 3 months.

Grandparents funded a trip by myself to South Africa and stayed in a school and helped build a garden for AIDS orphans at the age of 13 for about 3 months.

Grandparents funded a trip by myself to Russia(Siberia) and stayed in a little church to help build a banya (sauna) for 3 months and then got to take the Trans-Siberian/Trans-Manchurian railroad to Beijing and stayed in a hostel for 3 days there. Age 16

Came back from Québec a couple weeks ago, and it was the first time I've been out of the country in 5 years. I'm 21 now almost 22 and really want to go out again.

Places I want to go:

Reasonable:

-New England
-The Deep South
-California/West
-Mexico

In my dreams:

-Cuba
-Australia and New Zealand
-Mauritania

I almost went with some Anon here on /trv/ to Mauritania but I couldn't afford the flight to Morocco.

I only travel by bicycle since I'm a poorfag.

Cycling down the entirety of Italy and back via the Mediterrean islands or the Balkans would easily amount to 4000-5000 kilometers. That's one pretty long tour.
My longest trip so far was only about 3600 kilometers. Been trying to do one longish eurotrip every summer and add some distance each year instead of going all out and yolo 20k miles down to Cape Town. So I never really considered Italy as a destination thus far simply due to the distance.
I'm pretty confident now though that I can pull off an Italy trip too. It's pretty much set in stone for next year. My map is in dire need of some Southern Europe.

Not sure how clear it is, but I'm an Ausfag, travelled all around Vic, and to far North Qld (from Cairns up as far as you can go).

I've also been to some industrial parts of China (Guangzhou and Zengcheng, plus Yangshou) as well as some of the small, shitty islands surrounding Aus.

Be kind, I'm only 18. But pls rate.

Definitely looking for recommendations; cheap is good, though. In Australia or wherever, I don't care, I just want to travel.

I'm 26.
February: Jamaica or Sri Lanka
April: Road trip from Europe through Balkans, to Istanbul and back through Croatia.
July: Move to South America.

>>

I don't think you understand how this works. You mean to tell me that you've been to every single administrative region of every country you've ever been to except Greece?

You're only supposed to colour in regions that you have physically touched. Going to St Petersburg does not mean you get to colour in all of Siberia too. Same applies to every other country.
>>
>>1179229
Plan in the making, but I would like to live in either Peru or Colombia, then travel as much as possible really.. Anything from Mexico to Peru and Uruguay would tickle my fancy.

>>1179261
Yeah I understand, honestly was just too lazy to do it by region. Wanted to see what it looked like by country and never intended to cheat. Apologies.

There should be some balance. I'm not going to colour in all of Siberia if I visit St. Petersburg, but I colour in a larger part of a country if the regions are absurdly small, like in parts of Iceland, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, or Vietnam.

Nice, I've heard so much good stuff about it:

- where did you live and what did you do?
- did you travel around the country much?
- how did you find the cost of living? (food, transport)
- did you try the cocaine?

First questions that jump to mind, thanks!
>>
>>1179569
- Bogotá, study at university
- A LOT. I have been to almost all major tourist attractions and I've also traveled a lot off the beaten path. I'm a birdwatcher so I've especially seen a lot of natural sights in Colombia.
- Reasonable. Not as cheap as other countries in South America but cheaper than 'the West'. Especially when I lived there the exchange rate was very good for me.
- Yes.
>>
>>1179609
I love nature (treks, mountains, jungles, oceans, wildlife...) and culture (old cities and temples). Give me your top three suggestions, and I'll make a note!
Did you enjoy Bogota? I would probably be based there too. Nice city? I enjoy big, loud smelly place btw.
Did the coke blow your nose clean off your face?
Also, assuming you're into girls, was it easy to get some of the local talent? I'm talking big booty Latinas here.

I drove with one friend and several people we met on the way.

>Driving through Albania from Athens
>Both sick as dogs from partying heavily in Mykonos
>Also have an Austrian Croat who speaks good English
>Be made aware by Hostelier in Tirana that the border guard is temperamental to closing early on the weekend
>Decide we'd better get up early
>Head north from Tirana on the highway, come to the border at around 12pm after a while of driving
>Judging by the four guards with their feet up on a nearby table
>Austriabro asks if this way is closed; guard speaks a bit of Croat and confirms this
>WELP
>There's a turnoff from a highway into a local village that borders Montenegro (see: Rashtish)
>It's nowhere near the Highway we want to be on, but it seems to go north
>Drive off towards this village, the paved road slowly becomes potholed and gravel, pine trees and donkey carts everywhere
>Pass through village after about ~1 hour
>The border crossing here is a moustacioed man with an automatic rifle
>He takes our passports, seems to recognise where I am from, makes affirmative noises about Kangaroos and we laugh
>Doesn't seem to understand what country my friend is from (Maltese Passport)
>When he hands him his Australian one instead the guard becomes very suspicious as to why he should have two
>Mood goes from happy to cautious
>Goes inside with our 4 passports for about half an hour
>We're all shitting ourselves in the car thinking we're going to get arrested spend the next 10 years getting gangraped by Albanian methheads
>He brings them back and waves us forward across a worn-looking stone bridge across a river with a hunting lodge on the other side
>Drive slowly by the hunting lodge; nobody is there to check us for immigration
>Mfw entered the EU illegally
>Road for the next hour is gravel before it becomes bitumen again, a thin windy road through tiny villages and sheer cliff drops
>Occasionally have to dodge tractors coming the other way

scary desu

>You're like the third one I've seen in the past week.

It's a cultural thing for young Australians to travel. Almost expected I would say desu, of my 9 cousins who are old enough to travel on their own only one hasn't been out of the country twice. Also when you include the fact that healthcare and education are socialised and don't cost infinity, you have a lot of spare money when you work.

I did do a lot of travelling with my parents when I was younger, but since I turned 21 I've been to America, the Balkans and Ireland. I'm planning to go away in Feburary too. Still live at home too. Can't be arsed to move out when I'm trying to save up to go and see amazing things.

People always say Bruges, and while it is worthwhile to visit it, I find Ghent better. Also Antwerp and Namur. Don't do Brussels. There are a bunch of small towns that are worth a peek, such as Dinant or Diksmuide. I've never been, but consider Ieper. Also the abbey of Villers-la-Ville.

Late response, sorry.

Best nature is Tatama, Nevado de Ruiz and Pacific jungles imo. Just three is hard though, there's a million beatiful places.

Bogotá is pretty meh but if you enjoy big, loud, smelly places you'll love it.

Coke was ok but morally I felt conflicted since you're directly fueling a civil war.

Local girls are easy if you have some game. Especially if you also speak Spanish. They're very interested in foreigners but will also bail if you don't hold their attention. I had sex with a different chick every two weeks for a year or so.
