Hello

I am Danish guy currently studying for half a year in Valencia. In december and january I am fairly certain I will have 7-14 days of free time to travel a bit. My question is: are there any places in Spain (or places relatively easy to get to from Spain) that would be nice to visit this time of year? I've thought about the Basque Country and Asturias, but I might save that part of Spain for later as I would like to do the Camino Primitivo some time in the near future.

What are you interested in? I'd leave North Spain for the summer, I visited Galicia (the Cies islands) this summer and it was gorgeous

You can visit Madrid and some cities around it, like: Segovia, Toledo, Alcalá de Henares... Since you are going from Valencia you can stop in Cuenca, a beautiful city that not many tourists know

I was in Madrid before coming to Valencia and also went to Toledo, which was awesome. I might go to Cuenca for a weekend or something.

I'd recommend you to stick to central and south Spain, especially South Spain since it's too hot in the summer.

You may want to check this http://www.ocholeguas.com/index.html they usually have "10 places in Spain to visit this fall/winter/whatever" lists

I have this saved from last year http://www.ocholeguas.com/2015/08/31/espana/1441012004.html it's about September, but I'm sure you can find stuff like this all year round

yeah, I think I've decided on mainly doing Andalusia. Maybe a few days in Portugal as well.
Hit me with some recommendations if you guys have any. Besides the obvious like Sevilla, Granada and Cordoba.
