I would say Nepal if you really want to get away from it all. Probably the cheapest place on the planet to live month to month, If you like cannabis it grows wild there, it's very cheap and of decent quality. The people are relaxed, friendly and there is plenty of nature to surround yourself with/escape to if city/village life strains you ( we all need a break ).

Eastern Europe may be a good choice too. Poland is inexpensive, relatively modern and if you leave the big cities the focus of the people is family/religion like it used to be everywhere. Although in big cities you'll find the youth attempting to emulate Western ideals/values.

If you cook for yourself then Panama might be interesting for you. Living cost can be high to 1$ a beer and 2.50$ lunch. Panama city has everything modern you could need and just 30 minute drive away you are at the Gatun lake in the jungle. You can rent a room for 100-250$ a month,depending on how far away you want to live from Panama city. I live in La Chorrera ( 32Km away from Panama city ) Vegetable market near,supermarkets,we have good internet and a good night life. If you are american then some girls can be a pain in ass,especially in the city. But in smaller bars/places everyone is cool. My mum and I ( we are germans ) we live with 1k$ per month. Keep in mind that we pay 450$ for rent and have 4 dogs. So of course you alone can live for a lot less.
