Nobody does the work themselves these days, eh?
Pretty shit desu, i should know my country more
>>1156179
finnish regions are fucked up in the other map
also some maps consider england a divison for UK
>>1156179
Even worse for me because I've been to a bunch of major cities in different countries and they have their own regions which you can't even tell on the map.
Also, how do you people mark where you've been? For example, I've been to Moscow and St Petersburg as the only 2 cities in Russia. I took one of their fast trains between the two cities but never stepped out. I did get to see a lot of the countryside from the train. Should I count those areas or not?
>>1156193
i think you should count them
>>1156193
I would say yes otherwise roadtrips wouldn't get counted either. Imo, if you're connected to the ground it counts.
For a 24 year old from a developing country I think it's pretty good
>>1156193
>regions which you can't even tell on the map.
Get close, there is no penalty if you are off slightly. This is just, you know, for fun.
Not great, but it looks like I'll be able to do a lot more in the next few years.

why only tatarstan?

>yup! I saw a bunch of trees and some cows on my way to [other country]
>wow, that is incredible, I also want to go to [country]
>>1156378
Interesting, tell us more about your travels. Where you from? How do you travel to cover this much ground? How much do you think you've spent on travel in total?
>>1156882
Dutchfag, actually did most of it when I was still a student. I'm 27 now and working a demanding job and can only take 3 weeks off max per year.
I already went to a lot of countries in Europe when I was younger with my parents. When I turned 18 I interrailed central and eastern Europe with some friends. After that I started saving up money for travels with a sidejob. Went to a few countries each year for 2 months. Lao-Cambodia-Vietnam was my first time to another continent, was hooked after that. I still consider Lao one of the most beautiful countries I've been to, but probs because of nostalgia.
Backpacked through the Middle-East just before the Arabic Spring so managed to still do Syria. Did the transmongolian express. Went to Southern America two times (favorite continent). Did a trip through middle-America and Cuba. Did a roadtrip across the west-coast of USA. Went to South-Africa for 2 weeks in between once.
I also lived in Indonesia for half a year, so had cheap flights to basically everywhere in Asia.
Australia's not on the list yet, Africa also not really besides Namibia. Next stop is probably Kazachstan, Uzbekistan and thereabouts.
Top three tips:
>Colombia
>Borneo (if you have money), although Kalimantan is affordable but more difficult to travel
>Mongolia
Would not go again:
>Vietnam
>Brazil
>Bulgaria
Going to Mexico in October for a wedding. I've caught the travel bug and I want to see more of Europe for sure

20k in total for all your trips?
>>1156908
Yeah, I used to travel on a shoestring and I also used to look for the cheapest tickets for months. I'm not entirely sure about the total amount but I usually calculate about 800 euro per month abroad. There are some countries where I spend more and some where I spend less.
>>1156907
Mostly because I think Vietnamese people are literally the least nice people in all of the countries I've been. Touts everywhere, everyone's in for the money. While I happily spend more money on tips or products in poor countries, people that don't ask for it or try to con you get nothing.
>>1156913
That should be people that do ask for it, not don't.
>>1156913
Any other countries in particular you want to mention concerning bad touts?
Also, congrats on Syria, I'm jealous.
>>1156919
Morocco has some places that can drive people crazy, mostly Marrakech. Same for Istanbul and Cairo though. There are some annoying places in the Balkan as well, Bulgaria and Romania being the worst. Of course the other SEA countries besides Malaysia and Singapore also have their amount of annoying touts. Indonesians like to screw you over big time if you're trying to use "local" long-distance buses, having two different prices for tourists and locals. Same goes for the Philippines. I have quite some experience, but SEAsians are a tough nut to crack when it comes to paying normal prices. They'll just get 20 friends to come and support them and tell you that they're really not screwing you over. In Indonesia it was fun since I speak Bahasa and only started in Bahasa after they tried to screw me over and were talking to eachother making fun of the "tourist". When I told them in Bahasa I understood everything they said, was the best moment.
>>1156907
I also almost forgot, there was this fuckin cab driver that locked me in for like 20 minutes driving around the center of Hanoi, trying to get me to follow him to a brothel and to sell me opium. I swear to god he actually said "boom boom here?" and "fucky fucky?". At one point he drove passed Hoan Kiem (which I knew was close to my hostel) so I told him to open the fuckin door or I would break his glass. He let me out, I didn't pay and fuckin bolted until I lost him. Fuckin kek I was 19 and I'll have to admit I was a bit scared.

>>1157252
As I said I lived there for a bit so I decided to study it before I moved there. While I was there I did another intensive course and just began saying everything in Bahasa. The grammar is fairly easy and as a Dutchfag the pronunciation is easy as well.
Definitely want to travel more - especially to the Asian continent
still have plenty to go
>>1156913
20k seems like very little, what's a shoestring budget per day for you? Do you only hitchhike and sleep in tents/couchsurf?
I'm not doubting you but I find it very hard to believe because your map is showing like 70+ countries and the many inter-continental flights which even with much research don't come down that much.
It's interesting though, while I don't splurge on my travels the money does get spent faster than I'd like it most days. I travel for around $50/day in developed countries and for just slightly less in developing ones. The $50/day in places like USA are kinda tough to do.
Doing okay for a NEET.
I'm very proud of my Pskov oblast.
France underwent an administrative reform this year btw. The French regions on this map are out of date.
>>1156108
ayy where in NC senpai?
>>1157409
It's more like 45 which I did by myself. As I said I did most of Europe with my parents before I went on travelling by myself. Furthermore, as I said as well I lived in Indonesia for half a year and could buy tickets for 20-70 euro return to most Asian countries.
I always sleep in dorms, I always take public transport. As I said I usually budget around 800-900 euro per month, so I spend 25-30 euro a day. It's not all that hard desu. It's not even on a shoestring maybe, I've met people who are doing with way less.
The only place I didn't use public transport and slept in dorms was the US, I hired an RV with Some friends and we camped.
20k is just an estimate tho, I just did a simple calculation since anon asked, it might be 30k as well.

why donetsk in particular out of all places? is there a big untapped market for mexican drugs in eastern ukraine?

Yes. Ukrop border controls make getting anything into the city a nightmare. There's great money to be made if you know Spanish or Russian, even if you don't want to pick up a kalashnikov.

That does not fucking count!
Go look for some normie friends if you want to brag about shit like this.
Does it count if you've traveled through the region by bus/train but have only really seen it through the bus windows?
Does it count if you've only seen the place of a friend there, his car and the airport, but didn't so any sightseeing?
Does it count if you've been to a concert or club in a city, but have never seen it at daylight?

>France underwent an administrative reform this year btw. The French regions on this map are out of date.
No, please, keep them as they are. The government grouped some regions together just to save some money, even though they have different cultures, and aren't very related to each story when it comes to our history.
In the mind of everyone, Auvergne is still Auvergne, not Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne for example.
TFW when I've been to more US states than provinces from my own country (Argentina).
I like my province so much that when I travel in Argentina it's usually somewhere inside that province (Chubut).
Both European trips where for work, so they were not to places I would especially pick to go to.

Been to Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Japan (including Okinawa), this summer. Pretty good considering I made it using only money I earned during my uni placement year.
Also this was my 3rd trip to Japan.
Looking for suggestions as to what visit next. As for now, I am out of ideas.

Man, look at your map, concentrate on the white areas, I see some possibilities still out there! You got 5 whole continents you have yet to touch foot to.
Places I've been I'd recommend -- Iceland is pretty close to you, national parks in the USA west are great but avid peak season, I enjoyed the fuck out of Italy. Could recommend more usefully if I knew what you were into seeing/doing when traveling.
>>1159672
I like taking photos of everything but people when I travel.
Mainly nature and architecture. Not that I'm good at it; I just enjoy it.
I wish i could become a millionaire already, or live somewhere i could travel easily
