Yes, it was pretty much what you would expect. Beautiful rugged nature. You need to get a tour guide/driver if you want to see anything outside of Ulaanbaatar. There is no tourist infrastructure in Mongolia, you can't just hop on a bus and go to the next town and stay in a hostel - those simply do not exist.
