So I'm currently teaching English in Taiwan, and today, I was considering places I can go during the Chinese New Year Holiday (so I can book everything ASAP once I've decided where I want to go).
Right now, I'm leaning towards the Philippines or Vietnam since they are cheap and there's a lot of natural beauty in those countries, among other things. I'm open to anywhere that's fairly reasonable as far as costs, has good food and natural beauty, and has a good nightlife (beautiful women is a plus).
Are these good choices? Anything I need to be aware of if I do go to either of them? (my Filipina friend has told me quite a bit about the Philippines, which has made me even more interested in travelling there)
bump?

Just graduated from school in PH. The senerey is beautiful! If you plan to stay in the Ph, live in a smaller city. Don't live in manila, it's too big of a place to trust strangers. Gf had her earrings pulled out once. The poorer people in 'barangay's' are the ones i trusted most.
Money wise; don't trust anyone eith your money. I stress this! Never reveal how much you truely make. They will be all over you, your cock, your gf's cock, everything to try to win your favor. I exaggeratted that a little, but if you do tell them how much you have/make, tell them half the amount. I tell it to the graduating students too, if they don't, the parents will expect them to pay for all the families bills. The money itself is fast and easy to spend.
The country is beautiful, just be careful.

Also, if you're an english teacher, than go with vietnam. Filipinos are taught english from birth.
