Hey /trv/. /lit/izen reporting in, first time on your board. A friend and I are going to drive over to Centralia PA tomrrow, get high as fuck, eat shrooms and camp there the night. The initial idea was to camp in Centralia, but I'm a little worried that we won't find a safe/legal place to park the car. Wouldn't want my friend to get tickets and/or towed for some stupid bullshit. So I figured we might rent a camp site in a state park 30 min east of Centralia (for when we get tired of exploring the town), leave our car there, hike out into the park and set up camp somewhere. Of course we'd rather just camp for free and do it in the town itself, but I'm not sure that's a legal/safe option.
So what I'm asking is, does anyone know any safe/legal parking spots/camping spots in Centralia? Have any of you camped there? Will we get bothered by police or are we cool?

Hey OP, my aunt lived in Ashland, PA. Centralia is ~2 mi. N of there. Hwys 54/61 have been re-routed around the town, but you can park innawoods/beside the road nearby the re-route or somewhere in Ashland if you want.
Some weird shit goes on there - be careful. My cousin said that a bunch of neo-nazi skinheads spent a few days camping out there once and set up a shooting range. A bunch of drunk, armed skinheads is not my idea of a good time. Just keep your head up and take a lot of photos, upload them so we know about what time you were abducted, tied to a chair, and forcefully poured concrete down your throat because they're practicing for the Jews.

Lived 15 mins away from Centralia my whole life. Been there more times than I can count.
People camp there occasionally,there are a bunch of fire pits set up but it's mostly just local high school kids getting shitfaced. You can easily park in Ashland and walk there in 15-20 minutes. All the towns around here are pretty quiet, nobody will fuck with your car.
A few common misconceptions about Centralia:
Its not a total ghost town. I mean there's only a handful of residents but two highways pass through the center that still get a good amount of traffic. Also you can see all there is to see in like 2 hours, tops. Its pretty much the old highway, the graveyards, and the spoopy church.
