I taught in Korea for 2 years. It is not all sunshine and golden shits but it was some of the best two years of my life. Fucking amazing hell of a time and some friends for life came out of it.

Korea kickstarted my teaching career, allowed me to save over $20k and I've had so many good memories.

Sure it's not paradise but it's not like teaching is 24/7 partytime. You're here to work.

As a white American all the "xenophobia" has been virtually nonexistent and it's been overwhelmingly positive. People are more lenient with their customs, they give you free shit(often kimchi). I would prefer to do the experience here first though then come over to korea, it only gets better year after year.

My female cousin moved to Korea to teach English a few years ago. She loved it at first and tried getting me to do it too. Then she got married and had a kid and now she absolutely hates it there and just moved back to the states to save herself from going insane.
