You can buy mead easily in any larger alcohol store and hypermarket. Check the label for the water to honey ratio.
Czwórniak - 3 parts water 1 honey
Trójniak - 2 parts water 1 honey
Dwójniak - 1:1
Półtorak - 1 part water 2 parts honey
Pretty much all the store brands are fairly good and beekeepers sometimes sell their products at farmer's markets too. Mead is fairly rare at pubs.
I'm not much into honeyed beer so no advice here.

All the churches on the Krakowskie Przedmieście street + the cathedral and New Town's churches.

The latter. It's still a run-down neighborhood, it's not that it's dangerous, just ugly, as most of buildings haven't seen any renovation since 1880.
