Hey /trv/. Planning on visiting Kuala Lumpur and then going for a couple more days to Langkawi, any must places to visit that you would recommend? Any other tips or recommendations? Will be staying in Kuala Lumpur for approx. 3 days.

I thought KL was pretty mediocre, great if you like malls, overpriced booze and indian people. Good food for pretty cheap though.

The Heli Lounge Bar is decent in KL. You have to pay 30 ringgit to go up there (one drink is included), but it gives some nice views and can be a pretty chill spot to go to with a few friends.
Hey! I'm going to travel to Kuala Lumpur too, are you from IEEE?

Langkawi is great but you'll need to hire a car or a moped to really see the island.
Make a point of visiting the night markets, there's 1 every night (it's the same market, it just moves around different areas of the island, if you want to check where they are on each day they're listed on google maps).
I really enjoyed the Wildlife Park, the keepers there are awesome and you can actually feed and/or pet most of the animals.
There are some great places to eat at Perdana Quay (I liked Tapaz), which is near the cable car, also worth doing (arrive early, as it can get really busy during peak periods).
Definitely look into doing a sunset cruise. You get taken out on a catamaran for a BBQ and unlimited drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and trail the boat in a sort of rope hammock thing (this is better than it sounds!).
Also do a tour of the agrotechnology park, it's cheap, interesting and you get to sample all the fruits that are grown there.
The Skybridge is apparently a must-see too, though it was closed when we went.
Tanjung Rhu beach is probably the nicest, it's very quiet as there's not many tourists that go there (it's a bit out of the way) but keep an eye out for them monkeys
as they will try to steal your stuff! If you want a busier, more touristy beach then hit up Cenang beach.

As mentioned by someone else, you need a scooter on langkawi to really enjoy it.
Regarding KL, go check the batu caves and some street market. I heard the Chinatown there is really cool as well.
I just posted about this in another thread, but get on Tinder a few days before your arrival and use Tinder Plus to chat with girls there. Just tell them in your opening message that you're coming there for a few days and ask if they have suggestions for you. A ton will want to meet up with you and play tour guide and then go back to your hotel.
