Dubai is not very popular on this board. Some for its politics (Indian labor), some for its glitz (soullessness they would say), but it is actually a great place for leisure/recreational tourism. An adult playground. But you will not likely get too much advice here on that place.

My advice is to get alcohol from the duty free to preflight before going to clubs. Also order a "Blue Frog" at any club you go to, to save on alcohol cost. And make sure taxi drivers run the meter. Even if they quote you what you think would be a good price, meter is cheaper.

Think of blue frog like a Long Island Ice Tea. It's equal parts tequila, gin, Vodka, white rum, blue curacao (I feel like I am leaving a liquor out), some add triple sec, as well, then topped with a red bull. It's about all alcohol, but you don't taste the alcohol, you can often order it by the pitcher. Club drinks are kind of expensive, but really no more expensive than real clubs in the USA. $8-9 beers and what not. The blue frog goes a long way , and the drink seems to be peculiar to the Gulf and Serbia.
