this.

my plan for now is to go fast from saudi, erithrea and etopia, then countinue to kenya, chill there move slow and travel to tanzenia, do kilimanjaro and take it superslow down to south africa. then move up to cameroon and end it there.

annything more I need to experience?

Well you can't miss Somalia, it's a great place to be. Hotel prices in Mogadishu are really low as well, for some reason.

South Sudan is a good call too. They have the annual fruit picking festival around this time of year in Juba, which I'd definitely recommend
>>
Go on Tinder in Nairobi. Be picky with who you swipe right on and just say "You look damn sexy" on the ones you match with.

Guaranteed one night stands every night you're there if you're white, far easier than the Philippines. I wasn't into black girls at all before this, but they're quite feminine and well-spoken in Nairobi, so I had fun there.
>>
>>1141163
It is definitely possible to travel via public transport through Africa, but it's not going to be very cheap or comfortable. Your other main cost is gonna be visas. Kenya + neighbours have a visa arrangement in place where you can get 1 visa for Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and possibly Tanzania (information varies), but more or less everywhere else you have to pay between 50-100$ and wait a week at least with your passport at whichever embassy. In many countries, tourism is only not a thing, it's actively discouraged. Angola and Eritrea for example are ridiculously difficult to get into. And in countries where tourism IS a thing, it's often a very important source of revenue, and thus everything tourist related is fucking expensive. Every single national park in Kenya costs 50$ and up.

Regarding safety, as your pic points out, Africa is MASSIVE. Consequently, countries are fairly large as well. A conflict in the north of a country does not necessarily affect the south. Nigeria has an armed conflict in the north, but the south is okay (by Nigerian standards, at least), Somalia has a 30 year civil war in the south, but the north is pretty safe. Etc etc, my point is, it's difficult to give safety advice on a vague route that will traverse the entire half of a continent. Check the travel advice for each individual country you want to visit, and then ask if you have further questions.
>>
>>1141177
>must see countries

Dude, please be a bit more specific. It seems you want to enjoy the beaches of the east cost plus Kilimanjaro. Are you planning to see some game in east or South Africa or is that out of your budget? If you want to go from South Africa to Cameroon you'll have a hard time up the west coast of Central Africa. Public transport through Namibia and Angola is next to non-existent on a large scale and the Congos and Gabun are difficult to get by. Are you interested at all in West Africa? Or even North Africa. Or did you fall for the Sub-Sahara-Africa meme?
>>
>>1141252
South Sudan, pretty as it may be, is currently overrun by civil war. Stay safe, stay away.

I'm a Saffa from Cape Town.
I've been to Swaziland which was pretty nice, the peopel are friendly and the country (well I heard that they are monaing about the king now) is not in turmoil.

All the other countries you listed just sounds like you wants stamps in your passport. South Africa has all that you would want to expiericne and it has a lot of the Western benefits.

Rand is currently at its strongest it was in a year so your Dollar/Sterling/Euro wont go as far and I heard from the investment program that the other currencies in Africa are similarly strong (proportionate to their normal levels).

If you want a lot of stamps I'd suggest SA, Swaziland, Mozambique and then you could do Zimbabwe with their houseboat tours.

Then go to Egypt because they have stepped up their tourism significantly. Friend of mine went there last year and really enjoyed it.

I'll check back again if you have specific questions.
>>
>>1141177
Dude I tried this with a girl I met online and she bailed out -- but not until we'd arrived in fucking RABAT to get our visas for west Africa. Long story short, whole trip cancelled, months of planning down the shitter.
I've made arrangements with half a dozen /trv/ellers to boot, and every single one has bailed out before even meeting me.
Lesson learned is to tell them they're welcome to join you, but until they have shown their face and demonstrated commitment, you will not under any circumstances be altering your plans to accommodate them.

Let's make a list of African countries that can be considered equally safe as Europe.
>Morocco
>Tunisia
>Namibia
>Uganda
Anyone disagree? What would you add?
>>
>>1141909
Rwanda, Ghana, Tanzania, Botswana, Gabon and Gambia I'd say, plus island nations where nothing ever happens, Seychelles, Comoros, Mauritius, Cabo Verde, Sao Tome and Principe.

Also keep in mind what has been posted above: Countries in Africa are BIG. A conflict in the east doesn't necessarily affect the west. Somalia is a prime example of this; I'd easily put Somaliland on your list if it was an independent country.
>>
>>1141909
I wouldn't consider Namibia or Morocco to be as safe as most of Western Europe. They're slightly worse. No idea about the rest of your list.

Ethiopia and Botswana are the only two countries that I've been to in Africa that I'd consider totally safe for foreigners. Ethiopia punishes crimes against foreigners extremely severely, so I was walking around dark alleys at 2AM in the capital there. It's really fine. The only bad part is that people will be a little cold to you as a foreigner and there are endless numbers of beggars.

Botswana is a bizarrely safe and stable country in the midst of a ton of countries that are neither. Amazingly friendly people, would highly recommend.

Eritrea isn't going to happen. Susan's visa is notoriously difficult to get, and the border crossing with Ethiopia is closed. Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, and the rest going south are okay in terms of safety. Mozambique has small scale fighting going on in the center, passing through the middle of the country is discouragingly difficult. Central Africa as a whole is a shit show- DRC, CAR, Chad, tough to enter Angola, Congo Brazzaville, etc. are all, for anyone but an experienced traveler, which it appears you aren't, essentially inaccessible. In short, rethink your plans and come back with something much more specific. You're asking about an entire continent, a very big continent.

Disclaimer, I've not been to any of these countries but have done a shitload of research
Namibia definitely ticks all these boxes, especially the cute girls. Ride a motorbike up the Skeleton Coast.
Lonely Planet has fantastic things to say about Cameroon; calls it 'Africa in miniature'. Dunno how easy it is to get there though
There's been some troubles recently in Burkina Faso but it's been political meaning nobody's targeting tourists. Riding a motorbike around Burkina is high on my to-do list.

I've heard that Zimbabwe is actually really safe too, despite what you'd think given that it's run by one of the shittiest governments on Earth. Of course, it's hard to say how long that will last. Recent events there give me the impression that a coup is just a short time away.

They picked the hottest girls they could find. And interracial dating is a bit taboo because of the legacy of apartheid anyway. So don't go to Namibia with any intentions of getting laid, or anywhere in Southern Africa for that matter. The local white guys are generally taller, bigger, and 10x as badass as you are.

Again I'll say - go to Nairobi to get laid. 90% of the girls are ugly but that other 10% will be the easiest one night stands you've ever experienced.

Or go to Ethiopia, which is much harder, but the top few % of the girls are very cute.

Oh.... if you want safe then I don't think you are quite ready for the African experience, little boy. May I recommend a trip to Disneyland or any other popular family resort? This seems like it would be more your speed, you clearly aren't close to ready for what Africa has to offer.

Africa is danger. If you actually liked and enjoyed travel you would know this. When I visited Africa I toured the entire continent for 1 year on bike- you would probably take a car lik a fucking idiot and miss out on all the real sites. I can tell you from experience. I have cooked gamekill with villagers in the DRC. I have been chased by Maghrebi tribespeople through the rainforests of Namibia. I have photographed emus on the horn of Somalia while the war was fought 40 yards behind me. This is what Africa is. Danger. Excitement. The Unpredictable. Black people. I have felt it and honestly seeing you ask for 'safe' africa is fucking offensive. I wouldn't ask you for your most landlocked beach resorts would I, even if you are a fucking common tourist who knows nothing about the world.

People like you are encouraging the safetelation of Africa. Last time I visited I was in Swahili and saw a villager taking apart his AK-47 and I asked him why, because he needs it to defend his elephants from poachers. He said that tourism was generating money and they didn't come anymore. That makes me sick. This thread makes me angry.

I hope you're kidding.

Having lived in Saudi Arabia for a year (as an adviser to saudi telecommunication businesses) I can tell you you'd be amazed how few fucks they give about following sharia rules. Sure, on the outside wealthy Saudis will pray, give to charity, do their pilgrimage and so on...
But once you're invited to their house parties you'll discover they have well-stacked bars filled with fine liquors (never really knew where that came from though). The best argument I ever heard was
>if I drink under a roof Allah can not see it therefore it is not a sin
In the malls you'll see the Saudi women in full hijab buying the hottest panties in Victoria's Secret.
And while I haven't personally witnessed gambling, there are a lot of shady places where Saudis spend their nights to lose their money. Naturally this is nothing an outsider will see.

Well, that's my impression, at least from the upper middle class of one of seemingly most conservative governments on earth.

Sorry to disappoint you but not everybody on this board is 16. I worked in Riyyadh from 1994-95. That was the time almost all developing countries were hungry for telecommunication technologies such as dsl internet and fibre optics. Naturally these countries did not have the know how to do so themselves so they contracted westerners for a few years. I myself have a German engineering degree which is highly valued anywhere in the world. So believe it or not, I actually worked there. If you stop arguing with strangers on the internet and start putting some effort into whatever you're doing you might also make it to score a good job someday.
inb4 that was 20 years ago: I still have contact with some of the people I worked with there and some of my junior colleagues are contracted in muslim countries today. I'm not really up to date with the latest wifi and smart architecture technology so I'll let the next generation handle that stuff.

Pic for proof, Saudi middle class buying (then) high tech products imported through the port city of Jeddah. Took this in the indian part of town.

>Eritrea for example are ridiculously difficult to get into

According to WikiTravel:

>When you apply for a visa to Eritrea, you must do it at an Eritrean diplomatic mission in - or accredited to - the country where you are a citizen and nowhere else

I live in the D.C. area, and the Eritrean embassy is roughly a 30 minute commute from where I live. If I were interested in visiting, how much of the obstacles to visiting are removed because of that?
>>
>>1143832
>how much

*how many, my bad.
>>
>>1143832
Well, I don't know, I've never tried. However, one of my fellow countrymen travelled to every country in the world and wrote a book about it. He ranks Eritrea as the second most difficult country to get into, second only to Angola. He writes:

>The country is a one party state. It is the only country that ranks below North Korea(!) on the press freedom index. Even if you fill out the application form very carefully, it may still returned with your passport. Also, expect the process to take 6-8 weeks. The biggest obstacle is that you never know whether you will be accepted or not. The uncertainty stops people from even applying.

Source:
http://www.garfors.com/2013/05/the-hardest-most-difficult-countries-to.html

In the book he also writes about how when he applied the first time, the embassy just kept his passport for months, and after relentless nagging he got it back, visa application rejected for no apparent reason. See the image on the top of the page I posted above.

He says the second time, he wrote a personal letter along with the application, describing his intense desire to visit, and he was eventually granted a visa. You could give it a shot, especially if the embassy is close to you. Who knows, you might get lucky!

There are 54 countries in Africa bro, most with wildly different governments and regulations. As has been pointed out several times now, in order for us to give you specific advice, you need to give us an actual itinerary. Your current draft involves Saudi to Cameroon via South Africa. You're talking about traversing half the continent's coastline, including three countries that are hilariously difficult to get visas for.

What I'm trying to say is that it's okay to travel without any plans, indeed it can be very fun, but you can't expect concrete tips on questions such as "how can I use a bike in Africa?".

(some contries is not valid for this like singapore and bulgaria)

but to be more spesific, is it possible to bribe them or get a fake lisence? or should i stick with a car?

It's definitely tempting, especially since there's a shot that my embassy experience will be different from his given that he applied at a different one. Even so, the possibility of my passport being held hostage unless I pester the fuck out of them does make me nervous.

I dont know about American-Ethiopian restaurant, I am Dutch and only went to Ethiopian restaurant once, it was okay.

But overthere, once I got used to the food I fucking loved it. There was one restaurant where they served meat on small stone platter which was resting on some hot coales. Best meat I ever tasted.
The injera overthere looks like a gray rug and is sour. Both combined with the (very) hot stew and meat its divine.
My dad is african and my mom used to travel a lot in Africa so we mingled a lot with the locals, made some good friends. I suggest you get a good guide, he will help you allot on your travels.

Which country do you think i could easily spend my most time in? in terms of being very rich and diverse in nature especially
>>
>>1149220
Well Morocco has green rolling fields and Roman ruins in the north, and snow capped mountains and desert in the south, along with an interesting mix of Arabic and African culture, it's safe and rich too, by African standards

>Dutch mother, African father

Yeah i understand that, but i was more talking about africa besides the north african countries (morocco tunisia etc)
>>

This is not b, young traveler.

>>1149240
Hey, rich and diverse in nature? Tanzania, also safe. Ethopia is also a good choice, but a bit far north?
In the south I would say all countries bordering to S.A. Including S.A ofc.
You might get mugged in s.a if you walk ine the sketchy places, but most is fine.

Must say that i've never been there, but from my research this is what i've found. I'll drive down africa soon though.

Had a chat with a senegalese recently. He wasn't a fan of his country. The word "ak" was flying around.

I lived in Burkina Faso for a small amount of time. Its an incredibly poor country outside of Ouagadougou, which has pros and cons. Money stretches further, however you also will feel incredibly out of place, and its hard befriending people as they often just want money. As a country though, I agree it is very safe, as long as you stay in the good areas and don't trek too close to Niger or the southern border with Nigeria (boku harem have been known to operate around there. The people are very friendly as well, and it has good food and culture.

Not sure what you are saying, but skandinavia is a part of europe, and alaska a part of usa.
Annyway, the image is just to illustrate how big africa is, and if you look on africa on a western map it's often shrunken down to make it fit.

Zambia was great fun too. Safe, lotsa fun places to go for relatively cheap and the people spoke English which made life easy. In hindsight i would probably just go to South Africa since it did everything Zambia did (bar the Victoria Falls) and has a ton of sexy women.
