I'm kind of upset right now, mostly with myself. But I do need some advice.

I going to Italy next month. I've been really excited about this trip for a while, because a female friend of mine, who we briefly had a thing, lives close to where I will be. And I was excited to spend a lot of time with her... Well,, things changed the past 2 months. And she's seeing another guy.. It makes me feel like shit. And now, I'm dreading this trip. Because I know I'm going to feel fucking terrible once I get into Italy.

What can I do to help overcome this and make this trip enjoyable..?

In the meantime, Italy is one of my favorite travel destinations -- what sort of stuff interests you?

OP There is an art in traveling with one's misery. Eat lots of food and drink lots of drink. Talk about your novel/portfolio/screenplay/general art stuffs, and wait for the pussy to come round and try to heal your broken wounds.

As much as I think European girls are 1000x more attractive then Americans, I'm not going to have sex on this trip.. I really don't want to talk to any girls anytime soon..

But, I like military history, specifically world war 2. I'll be in Northern Italy for 7 days, and then I go to The Netherlands.

I've been to southern Italy and Sicily before and saw a lot of the WW2 artifacts that were still around, which was cool. But I have no idea what's up north. I'll be flying in and out of Venice.

Solo travelers are usually down for hanging out. You'll probably find others who are into historical sights.

Hostels also arrange day trips so sign up for those too.
