think that's about me done, these are my favourite /trv/ threads so I hope it doesn't die
I have about 11,000 photos from the last two years but they're all taken on my phone as I planned on having them just as a reminder and keepsake for myself and not showcasing them.
>>1138670
11,000 photos on your phone? bloody hell how much storage do you have?
found a few more, other ones were from Canada, these are from Indonesia
this is in ubud
we managed to catch the funeral of the King's Son, his corpse was at the top and they paraded it through the streets, it was all over the shop I thought he was going to topple out
at the end of the street they set fire to the tower and cremated him
quite lucky to have caught it
got invited by some local fisherman to go night time spear fishing, caught some fish and an octopus
would have been a great night if one of the spear guns hadn't gone 'missing' (we still don't know if they were trying to fleece us for money) but it turned the mood quite sour
we still ate the fish and the rice their wives brought home for us

For fuck's sake that should be tall and not wide.
Have another. I'm by all means definitely not a /p/hotographer so don't expect anything too nice

Not all stored on it at once. I keep them on my computer and clean my phone every once in a while.
Some random house in the south I saw that looked pretty cool.

From the roof of a friend's house in Paharganj, New Delhi - coincidentally, my least favorite house in the city.
Got fired from my job yesterday. I bought a ticket to go back to India next week but negotiated with my boss to stay an extra month (we're friends, but he's a grump - he fired his cousin before hiring me because he'd refused to buy pizza for the whole office) so I can save more. Staying until January.

Fucking lol'd. Best thread I've seen in a while. Modern travel is a joke. Like lining up at the supermarket checkout. The pleasure has been sucked out of it and replaced with a conveyor belt of ignorant morons following the step-by-step instructions in their over-priced guidebook while looking for their next Facebook profile pic. The kettle travelers who browse this boards will be triggered but the truth hurts.
>>1138654
Do you really think you're the first person to take a pic of the New York skyline? Is your monochrome photo supposed to be impressive? I can find literally thousands of versions of the same pic on Google, often from more interesting angles. This is why I believe taking pics while travelling is for mouth-breathers.
>>1139145
I realize that this is bait but the pic is of Toronto, the wannabe-NYC.
>>1139145
I Agree. Everytime I see something amazing on a trio my first thought isn't to photograph it. I enjoy being in the moment so much I don't think of anything else.

Oh now, I disagree. I did enjoy the pictures of crowds in those "actual" pics, LOL. It is true that some of the masses never know how to beat the crowds with guidebooks (but when have they ever been considered overpriced?). Hrm.
Want to see Venice without crowds, then you don't come by cruise ship. Any photographer will tell you that they wake up at the crack of dawn and start filming. If it takes 2 hours to drive from the DF to Teotihuacan, guess what, at 10AM, the crowds might start to get thick. It's common sense that you don't go to Rome in the summer, when the locals get the heck out of the city. I don't know what to say about Macchu Picchu except that Peru is hot right now, with more flights a day every day than last year. If someone does not like crowds when they travel they pick times of year the kiddos are in school and can't miss school at all. This will be September, a shoulder season and off-season time to go somewhere the world over. I've been in Iceland in September and not encounter a single car at all during 6 hours of driving. I've been in Ireland in September and didn't make a single hotel reservation the entire 2 weeks and found room at a discount on whim. I've been in Nova Scotia, DC, NYC, Prague, Budapest, Corfu, Grand Cayman, Vienna, Alaska and other typically SLAMMED tourist meccas in September and found delightful instant seating in restaurants, low prices, cool sweater weather breezes at night, and great interactions with locals. The only issue is...well, 75% of the world can't take the time off in September. Summer? Forget it. Disney? February or I won't go at all.
>>1138617
Where is that? It's terribly fucking crowded I would not be able to enjoy any of the art
>>1138659
Nice. If it weren't for that car, this pic could've been from anywhere in the last 40-odd years.

That is the backside of seoraksan. Very very off the track place. No real trails (unheard of for korea). You have to go through some rough country to get up into the valley there. All the beauty of Seorak without the crowds.

My dad used to always save a week of his vacation time for mid-September. All the trips we had during my childhood were in that time and consequentially they were all great, all our family members kept complaining about being stressed from overcrowding and high prices while our vacation went by with barely a wrinkle. He was way ahead of the curve.

Great an Lake Temple in Bali. Met a chick on Tinder who said she was going to check out the abandoned hotel which was something I'd always wanted to explore. Ended up having a day trip together up that way and stopped past the lake on the way. It's funny, being white, I was treated like a celebrity. I was stopped literally every 5 seconds by locals asking to have their photo taken with me.

Contributing cats I have encountered while traveling...
Apartment window cat, Tokyo.
Temple cat in a relatively disregarded temple in Hanoi
Angkor Caht
Murdering at of Dun Aenghus. He was busy murdering some small furry local resident that we never saw.
Sedentary Cat of Malaysia. Missing buts and pieces here and there, survivor of many violent encounters with an uncaring world, he now lay himself down in the middle of the floor of a Malaysian ferry-terminal and dared the world to fuck with him one more time. I tried to give him a bit of chicken, but he ignored me and it -- though when I walked by later, the chicken was gone though he seemed not to have moved. I would not be surprised if he is still there.
