I want to teach English overseas, preferably in the MENA region (Tunisia, etc).
As a U.S. citizen, I know I must take the TESOL/TOEFL/CELTA certification first. This is usually 120+ hours with a practical demonstration to teach actual students to prove one's ability.
Tunisian programs require at least one year of experience, so I will need to teach somewhere else first..
I live in the Southern California region. Realistically, what are my steps to making this a reality?
(Any good cert programs in the SoCal region? I cannot find any useful info out here.)

Volunteer locally TESL, or give classes privately. Volunteering locally at an established program is easier, though.
