Where have you been, /trv/?
Just earned the Ukrainian regions last month. Gonna get some new Czech regions in a few days from now.
Just filled in New Mexico 3 weeks ago ayy lmao
The main goal of the trip was to bag Guadalupe Peak, was beautiful. Took a side trip through southeast NM and there was a gift shop with a bunch of alien shit
Feels like I've been to a lot of places but look at all that white...
Maybe I'll travel one day. Maybe.

Why do Americans travel to far off locations before visiting their own country?
>>1135137
It's all the same.
>>1135139
>Tundra (Alaska)
>Taiga (Pacific Northwest)
>Tropical rainforest (Hawaii)
>Grasslands (Plains)
>Desert (West)
>Temperate rainforest (East)

>>1135114
how was south-east Turkey?
>>1135114
Why would you come to Costa Rica? I struggle to think of anything fun to do unless you are a hippie
>>1135171
It was fine. I was there in 2013 and crossed over into Iraqi Kurdistan. I liked the region quite a lot, but I don't have any overriding desire to go back again soon. My concern isn't so much safety as pleasure - I've really taken a big liking to Latin America, so my priorities for now are seeing Mexico and Brazil as well as visiting friends in the Peace Corps in Moldova and Tanzania, respectively.
>>1135174
The flight from DTW was cheap. I actually wound up spending most that trip in Nicaragua on the advice of the nice young guy who works the register at my favorite taco trailer. No regrets - beautiful country with friendly people and prices about a tenth of Costa Rica's.

> McMonoculture
The world's too diverse to stay within one country.
>>1135179
>we all bleed red
>everyone is unique and different
can't have it both ways, bud
either people are significantly different, and that's why we can learn from their cultures, and sometimes they can be compatible
oooor if they can never be incompatible then that means.... what's the value of their diversity?
>>1135019
I know how you feel

Where can I find this map?
i'd love to try the USA next big trip, spain next small trip
Could be more Tbh
>>1135239
in the OP
Sorry, but I use my own colours.
I hate this map, it's fucking stupid
How does Greenland get about 10 regions and the UK is just 4?
I haven't been around much.
>>1135297
So how is life there? How come you never went to mainland Portugal?
>>1135165
How does a Québecois get treated in France? Does your accent get brought up a lot? Do they see you as a brother that lives across the Atlantic or is it like USA to UK where the Brits just want the Americans to leave?
I've traveled a good bit in my life. My home is in Alabama. In the USA I've been to Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, New York, Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri. I've been lucky enough to visit Greece and Italy too; it was a senior trip my parents went into debt for -- I'll be forever grateful.
>>1135556
Peru is amazing. It is quite touristy, but it only bothered me in Cusco and Nazca. I spent three and a half months in Peru and never saw anything shady, except for some guys trying to sell me weed in Cusco.
Working and saving up for a loooong bout of travelling.
Planning to go to Australia, Japan and Indonesia
>>1134912
And I thought I was so well travelled...

>>1135860
>flies all the way to America, chooses Utah as the only state to visit
Why?
>>1135931
It's the most beautiful state naturally. Also due to globalization, experiencing American culture firsthand shouldn't be anyone's priority as American culture bleeds into every day life across the whole world. America's biggest strength tourism wise is its wide set of natural environments
>>1135931
Oh is that Utah? I thought it was Colorado... My American geography sucks
>>1134912
Proud Germanic here.
What do you think about my travels? Any suggestions where I should go next?
>>1136214
What the fuck happened to my map?
I need to get over seas more
>>1134912
I travel the world and the seven seas.
I'm watching you through a camera
nobody gives a shit about layovers my man
>>1136225
I'm not your man, dude.
90 countries already
>>1136214
>proud Germanic
>has not visited the Netherlands or Flanders
>>1136238
I'm assuming you meant ninety counties, because that most certainly is not 90 countries.
>>1136238
90 green spots is not 90 countries
>>1136238
I can't find the purple, where do you live?
Pretty well traveled within the US, really hoping I get the opportunity to go to some new countries again soon.
Turkey,Russia and Cyprus
hopefully i will visit Greece soon
>>1136522
Really avoiding Nevada there huh?
>>1136655
Like the plague, buddy, like the plague
A day trip to Boulogne with my school as a little kid is the extent of my travels. Everyone I know has been to so many places and it makes me so depressed, but I just can't afford it.
I like to pretend I'm pretty well traveled :^)
>>1135527
>How does a Québecois get treated in France
ok
>Does your accent get brought up a lot
yes
>Do they see you as a brother that lives across the Atlantic or is it like USA to UK where the Brits just want the Americans to leave?
they'll treat you like a foreign shithead
>>1134912
Tbh I'd love to go to Europe but I just never know what to look for when it comes to prices.
>>1134912
I haven't been to Switzerland or Iceland quite yet, but the tickets are bought and paid for.
>>1134912
Haven't been to many places, if you look it this way. On my list: Iran, India, Indonesia, Philipines, Canada, Scandinavia.
Doing this makes you realize how big the bloody globe is. Gotta get packing to but more green on this thing.
Plan on doing a few more eu regions next year. Hopefully ukraine too
Visited 20 countries so far
will be filling the baltic countries and Norway before the end of the year
Co-workers always say i'm some crazy world traveler then i fill this shit out and feel like I haven't gone anywhere.
>>1137224
I find it weird how you manage to visit every single province of some countries you visit.
>>1137226
i was just filling in smaller countries completely
but i did go around most of iceland, taiwan and ireland
>>1137236
>i was just filling in smaller countries completely
You're not supposed to.
Planning on Argentina, Japan, Portugal, Balkans over the next few years. I prefer bicycling or on foot. You really get a feel for the area, all the sounds, the smells, the freedom to see every little nook and cranny.
Sure, a bus and an itinerary would get me farther, but that ain't my aim. What really gets me excited to travel is just aimlessly wandering, letting serendipity do its work
I've over complicated this map a bit, but here you go.
The work specific interest stuff is the Olympics, and Commonwealth Games. I'm currently in Rio de Janeiro.
>>1137343
Maps like this aren't good at showing where you've been and where you want to go. There's a big difference between NYC and LA, between Hamburg and between Munich, between North Italy and between Southern Italy, between Scotland and between England, between Halifax and between Vancouver yet a map like this highlights both with when filling in a location. I've spent 4 days in Oslo which allows me to say I've been to Norway but if I used a map like this it would appear as if I've been to Tromso, Hammerhead, Stavanger, etc. Doesn't work well when you're dealing with other travelers instead of dull normies.
>>1137238
But you can...
>>1138143
But that defeats the purpose of showing where you've been. I CAN fill in Eastern Siberia but have I been there? No.
>>1135541
>>1135653
>>1134912
So I got a little carried away but this is kinda of fun. I figured out all the places I ever want to go if I go to 3 places a year like I've been doing. By the end of 2025 I will have no other places I'd like to go. All 50 states included.
>>1135140
>Temperate Rain-forest (East)
Is there? I thought the only temperate rain-forest was in the northwest, and parts of canada.

There are many older but solid bread-and-butter-bikes" you can get for around 1000€. I drive a Touring bike though, did cost 4600€ used in 2010
>>1138816
> bread and butter bikes?
any models you can advise? I know literally nothing of bikes
>>1138820
If you are not familiar with the term, it basically means a bike that is cheap, fairly reliable and easily attainable on the market. Mostly simpler lower priced models that were sold in high numbers. For example:
Er-5/6, XJ 600 /XJ6, CBF 500/600, GSF 600, SV 650, etc, etc.
>>1138770
Broooooo lemme come visit you. Hostel and hotel prices are outrageous in Iceland
>>1138845
honestly and unironically would consider hosting a random anon on /trv/ but I still live with my parents so no can do bro
Just got back a few days ago after a year over there
most of those states are only from travelling through without stopping
Have Bulgaria later this year for 16 days and Taiwan next April for 1-2 months (still in the works currently).
I could cover most of the world in red though I got bored and limited to a few countries, with a few spots within.
almost all Chile and 2 Argentina's provinces
Barely left Europe.
>>1138960
You know it doesn't count because you specifically say it. So why do you still colour them on the map?
>>1138884
Wouldn't be the first time tbf. I met a Ukrainian guy from /int/ about a year ago and I went to visit him in May. Top tier lad.

If you come back... I've been. Beautiful country, nice locals. Security was very tight and they don't like foreigners travelling anywhere alone. Had an unwanted police escort several times which was a hamper on things.
