The year is almost over. Let's have a thread dedicated to pics and stories of your travel in 2015. Don't have too many stories, but have some pis to get it started.
Yellowstone Park in Jamuary.
Also Yellowstone, which was probably obvious. One thing about being there in the middle of winter -- seeing Old Faithful erupt without a soul in sigh was unique.
If you are a geyser buff, spend some time in sight of Beehive -- it is harder to predict when it will erupt, but the show is, I think, better than Old Faithful.

Water Puppets in Hanoi. Seems when the rice field floods, to pass the time you can put on puppet shows with the figures on long sticks under the water, while you are out of site about ten feet back behind a curtain. If you want to,

LOL Japan.
OK, who's next?
Fenghuang, one of the ancient town themed Chinese entertainment hubs. Trees got green LED's.

Waiting for the downhill guys' warm up at Tianmen Shan.
And then the rest of my pics I don't have access to at the moment, so handing over the thread to someone else.
Lunch in the Grand Tetons on a tuesday in January
Area in Huadu, Guangzhou.
I only really went on 1 trip this year other than some weekend getaways. :(
But the one trip was a month long so it kinda sustained me. Here's a photo of a tapir in Costa Rica.
Tramping alone in the new zealand alps.
Wanaka lake NZ south island
I have some pictures of Ireland.

Costa Rica -- should it go on my list?
>>1056921
Only if you like nature and the outdoors. Things like hiking and jungle treks, walking around national parks. Yeah it's definitely worth it, not cheap, and the cities and party scene is shit (although I haven't been to resort towns so it might be different there).

>Did you do zip line?
Yes, by Arenal. It was a lot of fun, I recommend trying it at least once. However I don't think I'll do it again, it's kinda expensive at $100 for the day and I'd rather go hiking in the forest instead. For me, it's something to try once in life and never again.

I think the first one is south of Dublin. The other three are from the monastery in Glendalough.

>Nice shot!
Thank you.
>What's your camera? Or is that actually iphones these days? I am a little behind the times.
Panasonic DMC -FZ60. It's crap for indoor/low light, but I like it for outdoors and the zoom is plenty.
>>>1056481
>Does it light up?
Looks like it, to some extent at least.

Posting another Japan pic sine I'm here...

Could you expound at moderate length about Cambodia, what you did there, how you liked it?
Well since we are on a weeaboo website of course I went to Japan
Picture from a small town outside of Tokyo
Travelled for the first time to Thailand and Cambodia.
Rabbit Island, Cambodia
San Diego in June. Managed to get upgraded to the second best room in the Hotel Del Coronado. We were essentially on the roof of the building with a double balcony.

Sunset and nice cars
>>1057694
Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine at the end of October. Drove up for NY just to get away for a few days and spent about 12 hours out each day and did not see a single person. For such a tourist spot it's incredible how empty it gets after Columbus day.
>>1057696
Top of Pemetic mountain. Managed to take a trail that probably wasn't a trail, did a decent amount of actual climbing and ran across the occasional cairns.
>>1057697
And finally a nice boat ride around the Porcupine islands. If you look at the top of the tallest tree on the ride you'll see a Bald Eagle. Unfortunately we couldn't bait him down for a better picture.
Went to Bangladesh about a month ago, and took a trip in the Sundarbans forest, the largest mangrove in the world. There are wild tigers living there, but you have to be very lucky to spot one. Unfortunately, we didn't.
I spent a few days in Iceland this summer. It's amazingly beautiful.
>>1057702
Fuck that looks cool. Just booked my trip to Banff for next June. Can't wait to check out the park and also Jasper National Park.
>>1057702
Where's that? Here's one of my Iceland pics for good measure.
Vh gran ventana resort in Dominican republic. Here right now.

I had forgotten the name. Fortunately I usually take photos with both my camera and my cell phone as a backup, and my phone had the coordinates saved. That one is Urridafoss, it's just a smaller one, not one of the more impressive ones. We quickly stopped to take pictures while driving along Route 1, it's about 50km east of Reykjavik.
This one is from one of the F-roads. A bit more hardcode, you need a car certified for them, and have to actually ford rivers. It's a bit unnerving.
Dumb American(me) in Japan story.
Went to Japan during my vacation in the summer(Korean hagwon teacher).
I missed the last train to Osaka because I'm not too good with time management.
I didn't bother booking a hostel or a place to stay because I'm not so good with planning in general. So i was wondering around midnight close to the train station.
I was hungry as fuck and most places were closed and I'm not too good with location but I saw one bar that was open.
It's an old style tiny ass bar with 2 staff and two dudes sitting at the far left of the bar.
I sit down and get some random meat skewers and a beer.
Some time passes and the staff are friendly. They speak some broken English. They laugh and speak Japanese then the two dudes join in with their equally as broken English. I somehow find out the two dudes just finished work at some other restraunt and one of them was a head chef.
They like me so the head chef buys me a beer. One of their other coworker shows up who speaks better English. Dude was effeminate as fuck. The chef was like a imperial Japanese tall mustache looking fucker, fucking cool looking guy. Other guy was old with shit teeth.
They ask me about Korean girls and we start talking about the difference in Jap and Kimchi pussy. I said I never fucked a Jap girl. The chef offered to find me a higschool girl(completely serious and genuine). Poltics and history and all sorts of shit were talked about that night with their amazing broken English. All the while beers are drank and yet another random mystery skewer is ate.
Chef says something about Ichigo Ichi which meant we only meet once so it's special or some shit. So he offers to cover the entire tab and then move on to another location.
We go to this expensive fucking horse sashimi place and we get octopus and all sorts of shit while drinking a fuckton.
It's fucking 4am and we go to our final destination. Ramen shop.
Didn't pay shit.
We part ways and I pass out on a bench.
>>1058091
Also the head chef said he didn't want to go home because of his demon wife who was crazy and pregnant. The other dudes were all avoiding their wives too. Besides one creepy guy that I think was a closet homo.
>>1058091
Did the chef find you a highschool girl?
>>1058115
Sadly there wasn't a chance for that. We drank until the morning and everyone parted ways. The ichigo ichi thing was true and I never saw the chef again. I hope he and his demon wife and baby are doing well.
Another funny detail is he described himself as a "bonjour" ( i think he was trying to say bourgeoisie because he made good money).
TEFL-er in China here. Here's one:
>Finish certification training, hit up nightclub with other TEFL-ers
>Per usual in China, the club has the tiniest dancefloor ever, elevated so everyone can see, and a stripper pole in the middle
>Me and 5 other white people are packed on the floor/stage dancing, while dozens of Chinese people watch and cheer
>The stripper pole goes up at least 30 feet
>Chinese people handing us free beers all night for making the place actually fun
>Get fairly drunk, climb up pole to the top, slide down as seductively as I can
The next morning I just kept thinking "Holy shit, if I fell, I'd probably break my back, and whoever's I landed on"
Good fucking night though, desu senpai.
I was in northern germany to visit relatives.
>>1058171
from where? southern germany? lol that isn't traveling.
just pulling your leg....looks like schleswig-holstein
>>1058177
No, from southern italy.
>>1058091
Japan s excellent, once you get "in" they are amazing people. Little fuckers drink like they are trying to die, though.
>>1058172
Something about that I really like.
>>1058177
>from where? southern germany? lol that isn't traveling.
Traveling is what you do, not how far you go to do it.
Rainbow bridge in CO this fall
>>1058232
Ha, was it called "Rainbow" before the graffiti autists, sorry, I meant "artists," hit it?
>>1056921
ive been to nicaragua and costa rice, i would say nicaragua is a few notches up higher in the "places to visit" spots
>>1058237
You know I have no idea, my sister brought me there while I was in CO.
>>1058229
yeah, i really liked the place.
I studied in Spain for 6 weeks this past summer, then bounced around Europe a bit for a week after. Pic related is the view of Toledo from my bathroom at the school where I studied.
>>1058261
Sorry that it's grainy as fuck. I don't have the high-res version with me. Anyway, I visited a friend in Karlsruhe and we stopped by the Schwarzenbach Dam. Here's a view from there of the Black Forest.
>>1058263
Also spent some time in Amsterdam. Here's a shot of the canal near dusk.
>>1058264
Heidelberg is a pretty cool city, too. The weather shifted drastically from cloudy to sunny in no more than 2 or 3 hours that day and the effect it had on the atmosphere of the city was unlike anything I've seen. Everything is more cheerful when sunny and bright, sure, but Heidelberg just sprang to life when the sun came up as if it had been living in a cave for a year. Hard to describe.
>>1058265
And I couldn't leave without seeing Paris, if only for a weekend. A more typically tourist picture but good god, everything in that city is so staggeringly photogenic.
Lake Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan
Why did I ever return home
view atop of a mountain next to Lake Biwa in Kansai Prefecture in Japan, just rode around the lake with some m8s
