They're probably going to just put in Viera though so people can have thick thighed girls with bunny ears

It's really fucked up if you think about it.
>>9994966
She has a pretty broken attack that does fixed damage scaling off of the number of dragons your party has killed. As it turns out, one of the best level grinding spots spawns only dragons and they are all at level 60. Even though they're normally really tough to kill early on, one of your characters can learn Lv. 5 Death which automatically kills any enemy whose level is a multiple of 5. After killing 100 dragons, that move reaches the damage cap of 9999, which makes her pretty indispensable as a damage dealer.

She's good even without using Dragon's Crest, like other anons are suggesting. She's got a large variety of support abilities that other characters can't duplicate (like the ability to drain MP and give it to your entire party), and has the stats of a "fighter" type character (high defense, attack, hp).

>>10028044
I think that's a bit of a stretch. And half the fanart as just amaranth acting like a cunt towards her.
>>10028065
Not really, no. They practically end up spending all their time together after meeting, and we get far more of a feeling of closeness by the end than there ever was between Freya and Mr. Blank Slate who we don't know if he loved her to begin with.
>>10026624
WHY COULDN'T THIS HAPPEN
>>10028082
A handful of scenes between two characters that the plot had nothing else to do with still doesn't strike me as anything to really build off of. I'd rather give fratley a personality that write an asshole squabbling with a genocide victim.
>>10028147
>implying that's the only way to write them just because it's a popular way to

>>10028232

She's better in record keeper. Still not great, but you can make her work.
>>10028223
Yeah, no. Nice try though. You that much of a Freya x Fratley fan or something?
>>10028252
Why do some people seem to get so pissed off at the thought of Freya with Amarant anyway?
>>10028252
I just think amarant's a lame character. At least Fratley has the virtue of being whatever the writer wants. And he looks cooler than Amarant to boot.
>>10028277
Fratley frankly looks like an emaciated scarecrow.
>>10028302
He's just as svelte as the rest of his species. And the one little concept art of his face is very handsome imo.
>>10028311
He's noticeably thinner than all the others, actually.
Also looks kinda don't mean shit when you have no personality and fans have to assign you one themselves to justify their OTP.
>>10028368
Most burmecians wear large clothing. You can't really tell. And the opt is literally the cannon pairing. I don't really care that much as far as shipping is concerned. But I think Zidane or Puck would be a better match.
Leave the big-doofus-shipping to beatrix. She deserves it.
>>10028398
>literally the canon pairing
Yeah, shoehorned in at the very end and feeling insincere as fuck, and before that very strongly suggested to be one-sided on Freya's part.
>>10028431
>Yeah, shoehorned in at the very end and feeling insincere as fuck, and before that very strongly suggested to be one-sided on Freya's part.
So what? She pined for a man and got him at the end. I'm sort of with you on that, but it's not really Fratley's fault that the game fucked the burmecians as a whole. FF9 had a deadline and anything involving the burmecians was scrapped so they could focus on Zidane and Garnet. Just how it goes. Hardly any of the rats got any screen time except for puck.
Who also is a pretty good Freya ship.
>>10028456

>pretty good Freya ship
See, there's a line of thinking I'll never understand.
I'll also never understand why Puck was such a fucking mutant.
>>10028546
>not wanting any of this
What are you, gay?
>>10028607
No, just not a fucking pedo.
I still theorize that Fratley is gay/pedo and wanted some alone time from Freya, whom he didn't want to hurt.
He left on a journey for a break and some self indulgent adventure (with Puck) but then developed 'amnesia' when he didn't want to return.

>>10028082
A sort of Bogart & Bacall relationship, only between members of different intelligent species, perhaps. As for Fratboy, I suspect the reason he left Burmecia in the first place was to escape a certain clingy ratbitch, and that his supposed "amnesia" is just him saying "Do I know you?" when she ambushed him that time.
I WANT FREYA TO SIT ON MY FACE
>>10031397
What was wrong with 11's races? They came nowhere close to being lazily designed.
>>10033712
Too human. And they were fine in 11, but it was a huge let down when it was the exact same fucking races in 14, plus another boring human species from the first expansion. 11 and 14's stories seem to revolve around the furries being the enemies and the human looking races being the player characters.
couple that with 12, 13, and 15 and it seems like there will never be a actually interesting non human pary member again.
>>10034015
>11's races
>too human
We got big bulky bear-lizard dudes with clearly non-human faces, catgirls who actually had cat features beyond the ears and tail, and a race of short, thick chipmunk-ish characters, plus the Elvaan were noticeably, well, elven. That's "too human" and "furries being the enemies"?
Also
>implying Fran isn't awesome
>>10034140
Too human compared to ratonga, worgen, tauren, ronso, or burmecians, yeah. I don't know what you're looking at, but all I see are a bunch of humans with weird faces and different body types.
Fran was alright. But, again, she's hardly inhuman at all. And her species will probably be another boring addition to a future expansion.
>>10034214
>I don't know what you're looking at
The character designs of FF11, what are YOU looking at?
>her species will probably be another boring addition to a future expansion.

>>10043297
Nothing within the human range of hearing, at least. Maybe some ultrasonic stuff.
Also, rat coitus tends to only last for maybe 2-3 seconds, from what I've seen.
>>10043752
>rat waifu becomes real
>stick it in
>makes you immediately pull out because she's uncomfortable with it being in there for any longer
>>10043847
Female rats tend to take a very submissive role in sex, though. They even have a reflex response when they're in heat, that causes them to go into a lordosis pose (they tilt their head upwards and raise their hind quarters) when something touches their back and sides. That's basically like if your burmecian gf sticks her ass out at you or bends over involuntarily whenever you grab her hips.
>>10043847
>>10044041
>talking about furries like they're just regular-ass animals
>>10044096
its kinda hot if they keep some of their animal instincts though
boosts the exoticism, y'know?
>>10044096
don't tell me you wouldn't like to take advantage of your ratwife's stick-her-ass-out reflex
also, female rats vibrate their ears when they're in heat, which would be a pretty cute tell in a burmecian/anthro rat girl imo
>>10044113
>>10044160
It just kinda kills me whenever people try applying real-world animal logic to furries like that's the way they have to operate just because it's how their real-life counterparts do, particular blatantly humanoid ones they then try to say go into heat, something that only occurs in female creatures that AREN'T free to reproduce any time of the year they please. That and people (read: Egoraptor) who obsess over Knuckles supposedly having four dicks cause real echidnas' dicks have four tips.
>>10044347
*particularly
>>10044347
That's the beauty of things that don't exist anon, they can operate however you want them to.
If you want anthros to not have heat cycles and red dog dicks then more power to you.
>>10044582
That's all fine and good if you're messing around with your own creations. But this is kind of an existing property.
>>10044862
Square didn't really go too much into detail with the Burmecians. They had what, an hour of screen time before being swept under the rug for Zidane, Garnet, and Vivi? I haven't played the game in years so I apologize if there's something I'm forgetting.
Is it not fine that we imagine certain untold details about the rat people ourselves until Squeenix comes out and says otherwise?
>>10045014
Well let's mix some in-game logic into this.
Heat cycles exist only in animals that cannot reproduce freely.
Real rats go into heat like once every week or so. Ignoring the fact that we have no indication that Freya's got an uncontrollable need for a dick in her every few days, let's examine why this is. See, very small animals have frequent estrus and short pregnancies because they're killed so fast.
So not only does this raise the question "Do you also believe Burmecian pregnancies last less than a month despite having to form something the size of a human infant in their humanoid bodies?", this also brings to attention the fact that if all of this were the case, I doubt Freya would be that broken up about the attempted genocide of her people because the population would be exploding again in a few months anyway.
>>10045014
I just don't get it in general, like, what do people think "heat" even is, just code for "occasionally super duper horny for reasons they can't explain"? It's used like the furry character creation equivalent of the pizza guy scenario in pornos.
>>10045194
There's no evidence for heat, but concerning their reproduction speed...
I think Burmecians might actually have rather fast reproduction, not as fast as a real rats, but still pretty fast, judging by that couple you save in Burmecia who have five children capable of speech by the third disk. I don't think Zidane and co spent a few years at the Outer Continent. Maybe the pregnancy is slow and the children just grow fast?
>>10045309
If you actually believe those kids are all what she was pregnant with, I don't know what to tell you, because that also shows you believe they aged to early childhood and learned how to walk, run and speak full, 100% coherent sentences in a matter of days and will stay that way for several years before proceeding to age normally and have a human lifespan.
Also we saw Burmecian families with far fewer kids.
It's much, MUCH more likely those kids in that scene are ones they already had or war orphans. Hell, the couple even indicates they're expecting ONE baby when you meet them in Burmecia.
>>10045374
Helping out here, she was also far along into the pregnancy when you meet them, that's hardly anything to point at and declare Burmecians have super-short pregnancies.
>>10045374
>If you actually believe those kids are all what she was pregnant with, I don't know what to tell you, because that also shows you believe they aged to early childhood and learned how to walk, run and speak full, 100% coherent sentences in a matter of days and will stay that way for several years before proceeding to age normally and have a human lifespan.
well I mean they are a fantasy race in a fantasy series, where wooden air ships fly with propellers and metrosexual teenagers can defeat gods.
But I have forgotten several of the smaller details of the game over the years so thank you for reminding me.
>>9938457
This is one of my favorite doujin covers just for how succinct it is.
>>10045420
You're welcome, it's kinda surprising and refreshing to see such civil sincerity.
But yeah, it really wasn't conveyed well by the script, which did have a number of consistency flubs in the English version, but those kids are pretty clearly not supposed to be newborns, and yes, it was indicated when Zidane first meets them that they're expecting one baby--I think it'd be very hard to mistake five for one.
