I had maybe two or three people I felt really close with in a larger group of ten I was okay with. I stopped hanging out with C and was eagerly awaiting the day J got out of rehab so I could apologize to him, but he had no interest in seeing me and felt I had betrayed his trust and was trying to turn all his friends away from him. This caused a bit of a problem because the group tended to hang out as, well, a group. People would know what house the get together was at and would drop in/drop out at will. But with J effectively cutting me off, I had to start calling ahead and making sure it was okay for me to join in. This would have been fine but it seemed like every fucking time I called someone up they already had plans with him. Eventually I just gave up. I miss a lot of them dearly and I know they miss me too (every now and then I'll get a call or a text message asking wht happened to me and I never know how to respond)

When I was a kid I had a real hard time sleeping. I've always had the auditory hallucinations kick in and scare the shit out of me. Also, for some reason, I was terrified there was a ghost across the street so I'd crawl into bed and just freeze. I had it in my head that every time I moved in bed the ghost would get closer. If I moved too much it would come into the house and get me. When I finally did sleep I had incredibly vivid dreams. Nightmares were scary enough that for years and years I'd chant 'no dreams no dreams no dreams' in my head until I fell asleep.

One day I saw something cool on TV and kind of made my own adventure based on that in my head and slept great that night. I tried it again and it worked great so I kept it up. For about twenty years now I've essentially been telling myself bedtime stories. I have a bunch of characters in my head and a bunch of stories so I kinda bounce between them but yeah. I just imagine these adventures in my head. There's all kinds of shit going on. Sci-fi, realistic, olden times, magic and not. There's just lots going on.

The stories are wacky and over the top but it's the only way I can get to sleep. Imagining adventures of space pirates and cult leaders and drug lords, paladins and champions and law keepers.

Also lots of porn and fetish shit.

I remember a few months back I heard a report on NPR (while I was driving) that had a person who had been studying neurological reactions to stress while driving, and was trying to determine what causes road rage and people getting upset while driving in general.
