If I recall correctly, yeah, those movies were edited to make them more kid friendly, by edition out stuff like Rita spitting on the floor in disgust in one scene, or rewriting bird's dialogue so it won't mention that she has to lay eggs soon.

While this is weird, it's not a big deal. English audio track is just not very good in general though, it doesn't sync with animation too well, for example.

I always wanted Rita to have her own movie. She obviously has a bigger following than the actual main character. Could she have a story that focuses on her before she met Hugo, or maybe between the first 2 films? Maybe a story about her rescuing Hugo from yet another kidnapping and just focus on her for the majority of the story.

I seriously wonder if the owners of the franchise are aware of her popularity among fans compared to Hugo.

Thanks for the suggestion on this /trash/. This is a bruddy movie. I'd put it in the same tier as American Tail. The animation impressed me and the voice acting was pretty good. I didn't realize how many English loan word existed. They managed to make an entertaining song about a fucking skateboard. I don't know Danish but it sounded good.
