One thing I've give the fight is that it cuts out the first part entirely. I went in with the Zinogre Lance, the tip about using a Barrel Bomb S to avoid the overhead beam sweep was helpful.

I think my closest to timing out was on a fucking small monster quest in MH4U, killing Hermitaur in the Dunes and ended up spending most of the trip gathering shit. Those fuckers weren't respawning properly until I figured that I had to stay in the same area. The next closest for larger monsters would be trying to solo 3x Hyper Tetsucabra without endgame stuff in Gen.

Not sure about levels, but I'm sure that you can recruit higher leveled cats as your transition through different star ranks/hub ranks, so it may tie in on your ability to level as well.

I was insisting that Prowler is more of a bloody handful because it made the mistake of forcing the gimmick on you to even unlock that shit, and you're not even which ones actually unlock things. It kind of baffles me that the likes of the [Canteen] tag for some quests in 3U hasn't returned, it sure would make finding unlocks easier than needing a third-party database.

Cat leveling is the same deal, there are also level unlocks in high rank as well but I think you have to do Prowler quests. It's been a while since, don't care since I'm not big on them.

Previous games either showed you up front what quests you needed in village or implied what needed to be done by giving you one or two quests at a time.
Why gen took such a massive step backwards is truly beyond me. Additionally the quest lists aren't even sorted, it's just a mess of gathering shit with keys strung randomly about the menu, which is also a step down from 3U/4U. There was no purpose in removing touch capabilities and the way 4 let you select star level through an actually fucking readable list.

I hate capcom and it sucks that no one can make a clone with gameplay that smooth and satisfying.

Key quests were never marked, people always relied on second hand info to know which where the key quests. X just has too many quests.

To clarify I'm speaking of village only, but I never had to look up keys in 3U and 4U, everything was obvious. Gen was just a mess of quests.

But I want to bitch some more so I'm gonna rant about how adept is a shit style with shit implementation.
You ever play DMC4? Remember the table hopper? THAT is what adept should have been. Your evade should have behaved normally and stacked with evasion skills but if you dodged or blocked in the first say 2-4 frames, you'd skip your recovery frames, enter an extended invuln state, and be able to instantly reenter a combo. None of that running bullshit and none of that free evasion +4 while almost completely invalidating evasion skills.
Bonus round: adept now actually fucking requires skill.

Now I'm going to bitch about how while arts are interesting albeit unbalanced and frame-droppy piles of particle effect, evasion arts are fucking broken.
Two TWO (2) get out of jail free cards at 250 and 420 mv. That's 3 and 5-ish GS charges, the same for demon dances and you got TWO. Add deviant weapons and hypers to the mix and that shit is literally always up.

Remove adept, remove universal arts, and remove brave LS while we're at it, it gets too much damage on a single GP.
Also please make styles more meaningful overall changes in 5 or just erase them completely for yours is the moveset, the weapon, and the hunt forever. Amen.

I think styles would be better off if they just outright changed weapon movesets or mechanics entirely instead of outright removing things. So for example, Hammer could have a style focused on golfswings like it is now and another based around its charge attacks, LS could change the aura behavior, [spoiler]HH could have the MHF2 moveset[/spoiler], etc. Out of what we got now I think Brave is the only one that really changes things up, but it's hidden behind high and withdrawal states to balance it out.

Though one problem is that styles are a thing where one can end up being more dominant than the rest, I guess there's no really escaping that at all.

Arts are definitely mishandled though, Absolute Readiness alone even makes Seregios weapons a whole lot less useful. An approach like Toukiden's Devastator attacks would be boring, but I think it would be more fair.

I think the overall tastefulness of an OC kind of goes both ways. The appearance of the OC is one thing, but the artist's style can also have a large influence as well; a good artist can't save an inherently shit design, but a shit artist can fuck up a half-decent one. But I think we can all agree that at the end of the day, they are never better than even just a plain anthro let alone feral of the original monster.

What I find more offensive on the eyes is porn with a MH monster and then...there's a fursona that looks completely out of place. I don't care if they paid for the image or not, what could've been a good piece gets spoiled.

Again, you can't simply just give any game full-blown mod support if the devs didn't intend for it these days. If MH did come to PC, I think the best you'll probably get are texture replacements, cheats, and maybe custom quests. Capcom would need to develop a modding environment for the game and given their track record I seriously doubt they would do so.

Your best bet is for someone to make a fan game or clone that allows itself to get modded out the ass, or if some autistic savant pulls off a breakthrough that allows us to mod the everloving fuck out of one of the games in a very hackish way similar to Brawl.

It's been a while, but even if the range may not be enough to poke through the AoEs or if the counters don't work on them, you can always chain backhops to help keep distance. Considering the screaming can be random, the fight with a GS or Hammer is made a lot more tolerable with HGE.

I've had luck with the screams, so my main issue is that the places damageable by cutting are limited to the head, and the wings, being impervious to most attacks but a 2nd charge GS attack with the Red Stripe (the best GS I can manage at 3* Elder rank), are almost always in the way.
I managed to understand the patterns of other enemies that previously annoyed me such as the Congalala and the Daimyo Hermitaur, but I just can't seem to crack the Khezu.

Personally when fighting khezu I like blocking weapons and Dual Blades.
DBs are able to get out of the way quickly but still easily over-commit so CB (4U) or lance are probably better choices.
Blocking weapons can also take advantage of his roars and AoE spam because blocking the attack/roar makes you immune to the rest of the active frames. I think.

Gigginox is slightly more bearable in my opinion. It at least doesn't zone you for 30 seconds at a time.
The status spam is still cancer though and baleful ends up being as bad or worse than khezu. I remember burning seven or so antidotes on my first gigginox.
