Don't worry about trying to be on another artist's level, just get somewhere you're happy with. The most important part of art to me is having fun and being cool with your work.
Sometimes I'll look at artists I really like and try to imitate parts of their drawings into mine (don't trace though). It helps me improve my own work and from there I can create something completely new.

I'd say that if you're worried you don't think you'll get as good as Null then use his art to motivate and inspire you. It'll go a long way.

Real advice here, don't try to do hard things like perspective if you haven't studied perspective. It's impossible to get it to look right unless you actually put in the time to learn it. Haha yeah, I am pretty inexperienced anatomically so I fix up a lot of the shit on the go, making sure everything looks good for the finished product. I'm still at that stage usually even when coloring, i'll go back and fix some shit up because you notice different things at different times.
