It sounds pretty reasonable. Yeah, they reproduce asexually, but some are definitely very masculine while others are very feminine.

I always thought it was kind of the opposite because Digimon, being limited only by their parameters as data/computer programs, wouldn't have any concept of gender roles in the same way that humans would because there'd no meaningful sexual dimorphism in the digital world (Digimon ability is linked to species/data absorption, not sex/gender).

Likewise, while it may be true that Digimon probably don't reproduce sexually, there's more than enough circumstantial evidence to say that they do have biological sex (or some semblance thereof).

For example, I remember there's a scene where Juri makes a pass at Leomon in order to get him to stay with her (including giving him bedroom eyes) and you can read him as recognizing the sexual implication in the gesture. Furthermore, if you go to the Digimon NEXT manga, one scene has VictoryGreymon fall over, and you can see a very visible crotch-bulge under his skimpy underwear. (Pic related)

I guess I viewed it as naturally fitting in with the series' theme of evolution because sexual reproduction basically entails the sharing of information in the form of genetic code. I mean, Digimon are basically empowered by absorbing "data", so there's no reason they couldn't also interact with DNA in the same way.

You're not wrong, it just varies because Tamers takes place in a different universe from Adventure/02/Frontier/Fusion/etc..., where there's no Village of Beginnings.

My point was more that it kind of makes sense for Digimon to have some method of reproduction in the Tamers setting because Digimon actually die permanently. When the tamers defeat an enemy Digimon, they download their data, and that 'mon is perma-dead because there's nothing to reconstitute into an egg. It actually comes up in-universe, where Catsuramon (the dog Deva) is disgusted with the Tamers for not absorbing the Devas that they kill, because he feels that the data has been wasted, "as if it were refuse". Furthermore, because digimon die permanently, there needs to be some way for the digital world/digimon population to remain stable or expand, as it's shown to do in the show.

In a way, we kind of see how Digimon reproduction works when Guilmon gets created by Takato. The Digi-Gnomes take errant packets of data that get beamed into the Digital World from ours and arrange it into a living Digimon (in this case, Guilmon) in response to human wishes. Whether that means that all Digimon were created this way, I can't say for sure, but it's something, at least. Besides, even if Digimon in the Tamers universe aren't capable of sexual reproduction, you could probably just make a wish to the Digi-Gnomes to make it happen. Either that, or we just need to get a Renamon from the Fusion universe.

G diffusers make it pointless anyways since they reduce the strain to near nothing on the pilot.

In the newer games they're obviously just wearing boots. Krystal doesn't even have them. Even in the old tie in comic for the SNES game Slippy takes them off to bathe so the whole robot feet thing isn't even canon there.
It's not real, but since it's so popular of an idea and robot legs are cool people keep drawing it.
