Wrong. George R. Martin's writing in particular of those two examples showcases brevity. He's not terribly descriptive; his focus is on character interaction. And he only rarely includes unnecessary detail, and even then that's subjective.

What your problem is is that you want to write book script rather than ERP. It's the same sin I was guilty of, and one of the reasons I left. ERP writing is not the same as book writing. There is a different source of impact in ERP. It is necessarily shorter and more visceral, because it's not sexy to trawl through paragraphs of text looking for the dick going into the cunt.

And that's where your focus should lie. Your grammar and syntax aside, you've hit the nail on the head. You need to focus on sensation and action, as well as physical contact.

If you've ever had sex, you know that there's not a whole lot of thinking to be done during the act. There are instances and split-second decisions, but sex between people who actually know how to fuck is all action and almost no discussion. Communication takes place beforehand (ideally) during foreplay, which ERP doesn't have a lot of. When it gets down to actual fucking it's all in the hips, hands, lips and skin. Make that your focus and you'll improve in your post length and in your quality.

I've enjoyed every sess we've had yeah, they are just more time consuming than other ones. I feel like I'd rather you just wrote half as much stuff. There is no need to pack EVERYthing you can think of potentially in each post - it actually really breaks up the flow and slows things down. You also end up making it really hard for the female partner, as they have far fewer physical actions to describe, with reactions harder to be creative with, and often they end up just having to go through what you wrote and write a reaction for everything to keep post lengths matching.

But yeah, some people like the longer stuff, you included I guess, so by no means you should stop it. Just different posts lengths appeal to different people.

Little things like thoughts or the meanings behind actions can totally paint a picture in a different light and make it unique, bringing in the characters being RPed and the set up more, stuff like that.

Or you could just give your actions a sort of flare by using pin-point precision on the word choice that you use when you write. The problem with verbosity is that it tends to be laden with adjective abuse.

It's just more difficult to describe how a character feels through action, because there is a layer of ambiguity to the story. Describing what a character feels kind of cheapens that. You could go on about how a character feels about something, but I always find that technique to be more valuable whenever the narrator is one of the characters themselves within the story. Which is a tad bit hard to portray well within an RP, because you would get two different perspectives from two different writers. It is also a bit of a crutch, because you could easily lead another writer to act in a way

that you find to be most pleasing, rather than sticking to how a character would actually react.

Like, if you told me if your character is sad and my character has a kind heart but is bit of a social retard, then my character would probably act in a way that would be more socially adept than the character would actually react to without that prompt.

I mean, anything could work. But from my experiences, adding descriptions to a character's mental thought processes through either the character being a narrator or through the narrator telling the reader what they are thinking. Typically is the result of wanting to pad out your responses, and as such rather blatantly obvious that you are trying to do such a thing.

Granted, padding things out isn't necessarily bad. Fat in some meat is good and all that, but it does tend to be a tad bit cheap.

I do think that every single writing style that one could make a qualification for, does have an appeal of some sorts. It's just that I don't really think most people have some sort of ulterior motive that shows up as a sort of weakness. Not that I'm immune to such things.

They are just different types of narrators. Honestly you are making the mistake others here are doing in overthinking everything.

I actually almost never write my characters' feelings, because I almost always ava, and I like to write from a limited third (or, my favourite, second) person perspective - anon's.

In other's writing, statements toward the emotional side of a scene or what people are thinking or feeling tend to interest me more. It's so easy to get bogged down in cut-and-paste descriptions of visceral fuckings where every RP feels ultimately the same.

Like I said before there is no wrong or right way, but you can spice things up by trying to write about different things than just plain descriptions of physical actions, if you like.

From the super duper minimalist that never fuckin touches an adjective once, or the most wonderful flowing stream-of-consciousness that actually makes purple prose work and you feel like you are having a hot bath in words.

There are so many ways you can write sex, and my favourite writers here are the ones who do it a little different.

If I could give just one bit of advice that most everyone would benefit from if they wanna learn how to ERP, one thing is to try and stick in the odd bit of miniature - just something super specific, like a smell, or a certain look, a physical or emotional reaction. Just something small and different that might've happened at that point. It doesn't have to be the major thing happening in your post but the odd little tiny like that can really bring people in.
