Because sometimes there can be reasons for why something appeals to a person. Just because you don't know why doesn't mean that there isn't a reason for it, whether you know it or not.
That image goes a bit overboard on the psychology/science, but it could be as simple as "I was in diapers for longer than usual and enjoyed the feeling."
Or maybe one likes the embarrassment, or the taboo nature of it, or the warm, wet sensation, or the powerlessness, or the childish nature and innocence. There are a ridiculous number of things that could be appealing about it, and that's just with diapers.

With only little time to draw, here's what I got. Don't worry I'll finish it.

Then I had this idea where the main 6 are all in diapers, but in different ones, like baby diapers, adult, youth and such. Its going to be a reference of each diapers for the new 'artists' these days.

Just to spice it up a bit, just requesting/suggestion that we should draw some of /mlp/ OCs just to have that kind of dicky relationship. And can we have some IRL things here? Not just ponies? Like opinions and such, I'll start.

In my opinion, line is better because its more 'accurate' rather than the pattern one, e.g. safari rearz, its pattern is cute but its kinda dull to watch once you look back at your recording.

Oh yeah I forgot, here's a little more info about my opinion, I usually use cloth backed diaper, because velcro, and the diaper with a line wetness indicator has a good coverage, where when I wore rearz I usually take them off only to see that I only used 1/3 of it because of the pattern, I usually use my diaper until I feel the piss is not getting soaked.

And a tip, always pull your leakguards into your nether and the back so that it could have a good seal. If you're using two tapes, first tape is the bottom (near the crotch) then the top (just below the stomach). If you're using a single tape per side (those abdl ones) I don't know what to say, haven't worn one yet.

I only had ABUs so far. With wetness indicators I like their LittlePawz most, soggy padding is noticeable because they're white and the wetness indicator is a 'trace' of paw prints from the front to the back. They're pretty good to see in my opinion.
Of course the front half of them will be gone after a wetting or two, but I always wear my diapers until they're almost leaking.
I use the ones with one tape per side as well, can't really give any advice about taping though. I can work pretty well with them at least.

Ponies have integrated wetness indicators. But they're more widely known as "manes". If your pony gets wet you will notice the different "mane" shape.

Hm, I never noticed any difference between one tape and two tape models. They both get pretty soggy in my case. No leaks though.

Me too. Unfortunately it seems that often artists will just draw them as blurred patterns (which is fine) or lines that are completely blue when only part is wet, or have the lines in the wrong place. Or sometimes still yellow when wet or blue when dry... Wish they did them more accurately.

I would only draw patterns and blur them. However in the really wet areas they're kinda completely gone.
I would stay away from the line ones since I never actually saw these.
(Though my drawings never feature diapers with wetness indicators anyway. Should try it again soon.)

It might also be noted that in the case of ABU Space diapers, which have these green aliens as indicators, they don't disappear completely. Even on a very soggy diaper you can still notice a greenish hue in those places.

Well you just said you've never seed the line ones... They typically have yellow lines that stretch around the diaper and turn blue when wet. Making them blur is strange to do because of that.

I wouldn't be surprised, many artists are unable to see their own faults, it's a common thing.
The lines look shaky and sharp or disconnected at many places.
The neck looks way too thick and almost non-existent, like the head is just slapped on the body.
The left foreleg doesn't appear to exist. The hoof is not big enough to have covered the entire thing.
Right foreleg is far too noodley and bent at what appears to be a 90 degree angle near the strap. Ouch.
Ankle of the right backleg looks too low and flabby.
Left backleg is too long for the perspective, and the thigh appears to squish itself to fit the diaper, the opposite of what should happen.
There's not enough give on the crotch of the diaper for how much weight would have to be on it. Unless you're trying to say that the waist strap is doing all the holding, which is unlikely and probably painful.
Forehead looks like someone smashed it in with a baseball bat: Too much indent.

I find anything unrealistically excessive to be off-putting. Bright over-saturated colors for use is the worst for me. Especially if it ends up looking more like someone smeared paint all over the outside of the diaper than it actually being used.

Another problem is people just "blending" yellow into whatever color the diaper is without any thought as to how it would actually look when wet. Pic related is a great example of this. The yellow and purple pretty much made gray, very ugly. He did fix it though and it looks a lot better, will post that one next.

The way I think is best to represent messes is a slight bulge out (only enough to account for the mess. No weird lumpy shapes, just a relatively smooth bulge), and a slight tinge of brown if applicable to the color of the diaper.
Same for wet ones, really. Just in a different location, and more like it's soaked up a lot instead of being pushed outward.

The general problem is that real diapers may only sag after multiple wettings. Slight grayish-yellowish discolorings will only be visible with white diapers, not colored ones (like ABU Space). Colored diapers won't really show any discoloring at all. And it'll somewhat disappear over time again.
Messes aren't visible at all either. No discolorings, and we can't produce messes big enough to create a visible bulge.
So you need to find your own path between realistic and making it visible to the viewer.

Yes, that's often the case. A bit extra yellow is fine, but going overboard can be too much.

The original was not yellow at all. It was gray. Pasty, dirt-like gray.
Colored diapers are not as simple as "overlay with yellow/gray", that was my entire point. You have to darken the original color.
If you want it to be yellow, then you should go with a mainly white diaper with colored accents, so that the yellow shows through.
