I'm actually on my way to getting an aspergers diagnoses at the recommendation of my current therapist, she sent off the forms the other day. I started counselling for depression and NPD, but she said she's pretty sure I'm somewhere on the autistic spectrum.

I have a lot of "interesting" behaviours but I've learned to cope and hide them from other people pretty well.

'Typical' means average, or alternately expected, as in the phrase 'well that's just typical'.

'Diverse' means different, from the term 'divergent', to split off - like when a stream diverges off from a river and goes a different path than the main flow.

'Neurotypical' is supposed to mean 'this is the way the average, or more commonly seen individual, would be'.

'Neurodiverse' is supposed to mean 'this is where the thinking process differs from the average, commonly seen individual's model'.

Basically, the only reaaon you're seeing it as an insult? Is because you want it to be. You walnut.

It's an information processing disorder, so they keep telling me, so apparently it's hard for me to process information in the way where you can distuinguish between "parts" of stuff. I fucking hate it. It also expresses itself in the typial social disfunctionality. I've always been the weirdo. I don't really mind it, because I *am* weird. But boy, social shit really is like a job for me. Tires me the fuck out, too.

Ever since I got my diagnosis I've been trying to come to terms with the fact that this might be a legit sort of handicap. That I will probably never achieve a "normal" life by normal standards. Which is a job or career to speak of, being married, having proper hobby's, that sort of thing. And I can't. I wish I could just flip a switch and not be an autistic retard.
