Polyamory removes the weight and purpose from romance. It removes the functional aspect (the foundation for a family) and dilutes the spiritual aspect(unilateral commitment).

Promiscuity is empty and degrading with strangers, and anyone who's experienced it and says otherwise is kidding themselves so that they can continue to substitute sex for emotional validation. Promiscuity with friends is a one way trip to dysfunctional jealousy pyramids and the loss of said friends.

There are reasons that functional, happy, successful people aren't the ones following these behaviors for the most part. They're shortcuts for people who aren't confident in their social ability.
