The action scenes were hardly mindless, and remember that each episode was 22 minutes long; pure action scenes without any dialogue in the show are fairly rare or are short-lived. People love to believe that the whole show is exactly like the fight segment from Jack and the Three Blind Archers or Samurai Jack vs. The Ninja (in both cases, they are around 5 minutes out of 22 minutes) 62 times over four seasons, but if you actually watched the show you'd find that most of the show is just Jack visiting people and places.
